cause beating a name doesn't have anything to do with a style or skill dumb question so your a weirdo your picking a man who is slow at hand and easy to read to beat a faster boxer who moves good
Why should you favor a guy who feasted on Cruiserweights and Patterchins, beeing 212lb himself ? Could you hand me these two contenders of Listons era? For one, a 224 samoan tank, and then, a 208, 26-0 slickster ? For an ATG, that shouldn´t be a problem I guess.
If you're talking size, Byrd and Tua were two of the smaller fighters of their own era, so this isn't as glaring a difference as if you'd asked the same question about Lennox or Rahman. Cleveland Williams was 216 for Liston II according to Boxrec, and looked slightly thinner than Tua. Machen was 196 against Liston, and again looked like he had slightly less fat on him than Byrd. The best slugger and slickster than Liston faced weren't much different in size than the best that Ibeabuchi faced.
Patterson, Machen, and Folley were all better then Byrd and Tua. Although I do like the Byrd and Tua wins. If I were to compare Ike to any past fighter it would have been Liston on steroids.
I said it based of of son being slow and easy to read didnt that dude get dropped by Ali who wasnt known as a big hitter and stuggled to hit ali with clean shots but I'm the weird one no I just wont pretend to act blind like others then its said that floyd and folley was better then dave the destroyer doesn't matter who was better it matters who land the shots the most which dave would destroy son and fast why is son overrated when the man moved so bad and made a living beating up fake hw beating up floyd who was a prototype mike and people say son being slow and easy to read while moving basic come forward beats mike nobody ever beat mike like that and mike moved way better then floyd hit way harder and was way harder to put down I would say mike toughness for taking hard shots in hw is unmatched only by tua
Finally? It's been said plenty. Read through some of the threads he 'contributed to'. His being weird was hardly an elephant in the room.
No he doesn't. "If they put him [Ibeabuchi] in with Lennox, he will get killed. Anyone hanging their chin out to get hit, their head out for punching, is through with Lennox."
your comparing the best outboxer hw tallest skilled lennox to sonny a man who was easy to read slow and bad defense odd and just a basic come forward type son got dropped from ali a man who hit way less hard then ike ike does move to good for son
“Liston used beautiful head movement and what may be the division’s greatest ever jab to avoid most of Williams’ punches and to keep him off balance. Williams does occasionally land with extraordinarily powerful shots, but Sonny shakes each one off. In their combined five rounds of boxing over the course of their two fights, Liston is only shaken briefly once, and never in danger of being dropped. The most astounding thing about his approach is that he is equally comfortable coming forward or retreating—which he does whenever he feels pressured. This runs entirely contrary to the perceived wisdom about Sonny Liston. Although he was a finisher of comparable stature to Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, and Frazier, he was the only member of this shark-like group who was a boxing conservative.” Boxing expert Monte cox talking about son' skills
