Just watched Hearn on IFL talking his usual crap, saying Brook vs Khan is nowhere near the biggest fight in the UK when asked which fights are bigger he couldn't think of one and said Buatsi vs Yarde lol Then stated he wants Benn vs Khan and rubbished Avaneysan again saying high risk low reward not a big fight, not enough money ect, he should just take it on the chin and say Avanesyan absolutely brutalises Benn in a one sided beat down akin to Fury vs Wilder 2 so we are swerving that fight until he has milked Benn dry and is ready for a cash out.
Hearn must be truly devasted, rolled the dice with the dazn contract believing matchroom were above the likes of sky and bt and now matchroom imo are in real trouble over the next two years to a point where he may sell them When he was with sky about 5 years ago he was putting on some great great cards full of title fights, he had an amazing stable, it created created great time for british boxing. 5 years on without sky and trying to conquer America he has put everybody's back up and the promoters are all working against him so I can see his future involvement in America being very minimal. He promised all the big names were going to be bixing on dazn for the subscription price, now none of the top fighters are on dazn and they are introducing a ppv model. His love of canelo is truly fake and he is just trying to cling onto.something that is out of his hands completely, canelo will use whoever makes sense depending on the fight but if hesrn thinks canelo is coming to the UK for eubank or rider he is truly losing the plot. I'm struggling to think of any british fighters that he has in his stable that are going yo.make any impact on the world scene over the next few years??? You can't blame the man for trying to be great but unfortunately it's back fired and the once cocky best promoter in the world is starting to look rather desperate!!!

This is my point. Eddie Hearn left Sky Sports because DAZN was in a completely different league financially. Where are all the great events Eddie Hearn promised?
Hearn is right that Brook vs Kahn is not the biggest fight UK. AJ vs any of Whyte, Joyce, Fury, Dubois are all bigger. As is whyte vs Fury. I don't mind that Benn isn't fighting Avanesyan yet just as long as he continues to fight a better fighter than his last as he has been doing. Fight Algeri , then either Hooker or Lipnets or the winner of Kahn vs Brook and then take on a top 10 guy such Avanesyan.
Even if Brook v Kahn is way past its best, it's a massive ego blow to Hearn that it's not him promoting it regardless of what he spouts in interviews. Avanesyan has already ended the hype around one of Matchroom's golden boys and Hearn knows full well he would do it again. I fully expect Hearn to chuck around the Broner, Portee's etc after the Algieri fight only then to say Benn needs a bit of American exposure and take him over there to fight a tomato can.

See this is the people who are missing the point , you are correct to say that Algieri fight is the logical next step for Benn. But the issue is that he is getting rammed down our throats as this nasty welterweight headlining Saturday nights. Look at Williams vs eubank on the same night. That's a headline act .
Even after a few more fights, I can't see Benn ever beating Avanesyan. I like Benn, very entertaining, it's just Avanesyan is levels above. I still want to see Benn vs. Kelly. I do think there's potential in that.
