If Tyson had fought in the 60s and 70s, would he have ever won a world title?

Stop trolling. Liston is the only one that can beat him, Tyson whoops the rest.

Only Liston can beat him, if he's prime. Tyson clearly whoops the rest

I dont argee buddy the 70s ali is tough for mike cause of his keeping his distance

the 70s ali I can see losing he lost movement and was tough for taking damage but he cant hurt mike enough to drop him

Yes, 60s Liston was slow, but in his prime he was faster and might have given Tyson trouble.

    Good ol´ Teddy.

    Teddy: Liston was bigger.
    Data: Liston = 209-215; Tyson = 215-221

Oh, and of course we heard alot about speed in this matchup too .....

He wasn't heavier but a bit taller and had huge reach advantages. Maybe that's what he means.
I am not sure about the body frame but Liston was quite massive too.

60-79: If he could have gotten a match with Floyd before Sonny did, I think Tyson could have beaten Patterson. That would have given him the Lineal Title. But I doubt if he would have gotten to Floyd, after Johansson, before Sonny did. Ali got Sonny first, right after Patterson, and I think that's what would have happened even with Mike around. Ali would have probably given Mike a shot eventually, but I would have picked Ali to win that, in a tough fight. If Mike had started in 1960, he would have had some age on him by the time Frazier came around as Lineal Champion in 1971. I sort of doubt if Frazier would have jumped in there with Tyson right after Ali anyway. The rematch was the money maker for him. By 1973, Foreman would have held the belt. Here again, he may not have gotten to George before Ali did, and I believe Mike would have lost to George at that time anyway. He could have beaten Leon Spinks but Ali had Spinks sewed up in a rematch. Then Ali retired, and still would have, having already beaten Tyson. At that point, Tyson would be shot, having started his career in 1960.

So...I'm thinking no Lineal Belt for Mike in the 60's or 70's.

Beats Patterson, Terrell, Ellis, Spinks, Norton.

Could beat a 60s Ali if he tags him like Cooper did. Tossup with 70s Ali and Holmes, depends if he gasses out.

    Up to FOTC Frazier wins.

    Loses to Foreman and Liston.

Tyson beats Foreman, Liston and Frazier for my money at there bests here I don’t know- I don’t even hesitate to say that either LOL.

When people rate guys like Liston and George so high it makes me wonder if we are watching the same fighters.

Didn't Liston have a 84" reach vs Tyson's 72"? And Liston did look much larger than his listed weight. However I do think Tyson could have beat Liston, the speed would be too much.

I think he’d always have that potential. And timing would everything.

well son is rated high for destroying small dudes fake hw's

George is rated high cause of him being tough and hitting hard making people quit or stopped they say he was the hardest hitter never was he is one of the hardest hitters though

both these legends were slow and easy to read people will lie though and say they wasnt slow dont know why they lie
