McGrain, it probably is just the way people see him, and a lot of what is said is fair and true...all I would like to see is the same standards applied to all...& I'm sure you agree with that.

Just digging through older threads per usual on a rainy day and I keep stumbling about a persistent myth. That Jack Dempsey used to break in Wh0res for money? Where did this start and is there any truth to it or is this just a claim with no source?

 

None. He never kidnapped the Lindbergh baby either.
Dempsey donated to and appeared at two benefits for Sam Langford,used Battling Jim Johnson , Panama Joe Gans ,the Jamaica Kid,John Lester Johnson , Big Bill Tate ,and George Godfrey as sparring partners,he also paid for Godfreys funeral.

Possibly during his "slacker trial", and divorce from Maxine Cates, it was freely posted here by Seamus but never accompanied by a shred of credible evidence.

Worth a read ,Pollacks and Roberts are both better imo, Mylers and Kahns are okay although Kahn's is a bit fawning.
