I've been paying for every boxing event on Sky Box Office since March 16, 1996 (Tyson vs. Bruno II) and I'm also ready to pay to see Khan vs. Brook. I actually think it's going to sell well (if it's Sky Sports).
I have seen it in full now, Hearn is a joke, a complete joke. He can't be taken seriously now, it's all gimmicks and narratives.
The bloke can’t breathe without a thread popping up on here about him. On this occasion he’s right as well, it’s nowhere near the biggest fight in Britain. It’s just pure hypocritical **** as well. If Hearn was putting on Khan Brook next year, on PPV, imagine the outcry on here. Yet Sky do it and you lot are fawning over it like it’s 2014, and they’re both not completely shot fighters...
When did I fawn over Khan v Brook? Never in a million years would I pay for that, sorry but him standing straight faced telling us its not a big fight while digging up kiko martinez for a world title gets my back up & thats without the Algieri contradictions, ironic you mention 2014 as that's the last time either of those 2 were relevant.
The point in this is the fans want to see hard fights if Hearn and Benn want us on the train make the 50 50s have the Hard 60 40s don't look to fight washed up 40+ fighters for massive PPV loot. Real boxing fans know what's happening in in all fairness Hearn is taking the **** out of us and has been for years I'm so glad it's finally catching up with him he is getting greyer by the day and is heading for the knacker yard. Also to be fair Benn has fought zero of his British rivals and skipped the British and Commonwealth route so what right has he got to claim to be the best Brit WW when he hasn't fought any of the others.
Is Benn really getting paid more than half a million quid to box Chris Algeri? I’m not sure about that.
And as I said above, it’s an investment rather than the real market rate for Benn. His father bet the house on Eubank getting to a shot at Benn Sr; if that fight had gone the other way I suspect the Hearns might have swerved getting any deeper into the sport. They make no secret that darts and snooker are so much easier to deal with!
He is. He’s on very big money and it would surprise a lot of people how many viewers he actually draws. I have a feeling with Benn he may go down as a mini British mayweather that people tune in to watch him get beat. the DA fight would require PPV money for Benn to take the risk.‘that’s likely £1.5m plus. DA brings nothing to the table other than being a good fighter. He has no belt and no name value. When Benn does jump up it will either be against khan as he has a lot of value or for a belt. That won’t be for another 12 months yet. Let’s face it people want him to fight DA because they want to see him beat and it’s a good Fight but if your managing him it makes no sense. Warren and marsh would be better getting DA into a mandatory position then revisit the Benn fight
Yeah this is the thing that really grates on me - why did he skip the British and Commonwealth route? I think it would have added to his appeal...these are still seen as prestigious titles and mean something. I can only assume he not at that level, and still not at that level. Would be beat Essuman? Maybe he should have got in first against Chris Jenkins? Surely he beats him????
People on here expect the biggest and most competitive fights without paying. Incredible amount of moaning on this forum. DAZN is literally month to month, you can dip in when you want and yet people just moan, moan, moan.
Probably the single most talked about / moaned about bod on here. EddieHearnForum24 it ought to be renamed...
When you talk as much shyte and tell as many lies as he does it's to be expected it'll be a common subject.
