ha ha ha the optimism is solid in this one what figure do you class as well i know loads of boxing fans round here and no one but no one is intrested all say they can force this shyte show on us that we no longer want but i aint parting with hard eraned cash for it to late i for one will tune out
I get the fact that they want to manage Conor correctly so if a fight is too high risk low reward at this stage then then that's absolutely fine, I get it. But If that's the case, don't be shouting off post-fight about the Shawn Porters, Garcia's etc of this world and then in turn duck Avanesyan (a fight that loads of fans are calling for) and then deliver us 37 year old Algieri.
Genuinely think Haney is an accident to happen He's the weakest out of the Four (Teo, Tank, Garcia) in my eyes.
Obviously wouldn’t be as buzzing for Khan Brook as I would have been 5 years ago. Would still probably be more interested in that than Benn Algieri though
He is undoubtedly a snake oil salesman Hearn. But that’s his job. His job is to maximise his and his fighters earning potential in the best way he sees fit. And he does that better than any other promoter in the game. He’s basically said on that video that Benn isn’t ready for the fight with Avanesyan. It’s ridiculous for somebody to think he would be with such a limited amateur career. Where he does let himself down though is him poo pooing the significance of the Brook v Khan fight in this country. Ok it’s not as big as before but it still sells very well and it’s 2 boxers most of the British public who watch a lot of sport will instantly recognise. With the backing of Sky (which IMO is where it’s gonna end up as they know they’re two recognisable faces they can cross sell the fight with to the footy fans) it will be the biggest fight in the Uk next year outside the heavyweights. That’s why Hearn’s giving it the spilt milk routine when he talks about it. He’s sorry he’s missed out on it years ago.
Does he beat Jenkins I don't know probably does he beat Essuman and McKinnson maybe but at the moment I would say either of those are 50 50 Hearn knows this and those fights are at British level there is no way we see these as Hearn won't even risk an L at Britiah level. DA wrecks Benn like he did Kelly so we will never see that fight which is a shame as I would love to see DA humble Benn. But as Benn is a fighter the blame has to lay with Hearn as there is 1 thing Nigel will have installed in Benn is to have a set of bollocks so I don't for 1 minute think Benn would turn down any of the fights, Hearn will just be over paying for easy fights hoping to pinch a vacant belt against a Latvian taxi driver at some point to then milk the PPV loot.
Benn has had 19 fights - if he is not ready now to challenge for a World Title at 25 years of age, 5 years as a Pro, with this number of fights then he is following a Tony Dosh PPV type career trajectory. A CV full of puddings until an opportunity comes up to fight for the IBO Title on DAZN Box Office when he reaches 30 years of age.
some foghter from bolton was being called young a kid and still learning at 28 years of age so it becomes applicable
Joe Cordina is 30 next month and is still called a prospect. Fowler has been a pro 5 years, had a long amateur background and fought at the Olympics but it was apparently ‘too soon’ for him to fight Liam Smith.
