I guess ones that spring to mind are Kirkland Laing (beat Roberto Duran and then basically vanished for a while year and never capitalised on it), and Frankie Gavin (very talented but also possessed a very ill-disciplined approach / never really seemed to live the life).

Another one who, in my view, didn't fulfil his potential (through no fault of his own, unlike Laing and Gavin) would be Ahmet Patterson. I loved watching him box and show more with each fight, so I was understandably gutted for him that he had to retire after being attacked while out doing roadwork one day.

Prince Patel was destined for greatness - a shocking omission.

Uzzy Ahmed never made Strictly Come Dancing either - a complete waste of ringwalk talent.

Very literally. I'm actually amazed that he achieved what he did, to be honest.

Fury and Brook are good shouts.

Brook fighting GGG and spending his peak years chasing Khan was a disaster. You never know he could've given Crawford and Spence a run and I reckon he had the beating of a few of the other top guys. To be in that division at that time and only really have Spence and Porter to show for it is a real shame.

Fury has obviously has a good career but it could have been so much better.

Perhaps he was a 'gym' world champ, I remember a couple of fighters, Robbie Peden and Kid Diamond, good pros but legendary in the gym.

Brook for sure, with Fury, maybe it was meant to be this way. I mean he got there in the end in an unconventional way for an unconventional character :).

I firmly believe Brook would have beat Spence at home without the disasters previously.

Because he would have lost to all of them, he was a smart guy, he knew his limitations and that he could become a huge star in the UK by avoiding those dudes.

Brook again for sure but not Khan, simply couldn't take a decent shot to the chin, obviously super talented though.

I don't know much about Mitchells lifestyle outside the ring, he certainly lost to fighters that he shouldn't have. One of the most inconsistent fighters I can remember.

Me too, I had Degale winning the Degale and Jack fights, I thought he really got jobbed against Groves, close-ish fight but very easy to score. Degale was a bit strange, he would go from chocolates to boiled lollies and back again in the one fight! He would look a million dollars at one point and then disinterested the next!

Woodhall and Mcracken reached their levels in the pro game, I feel.
