Why did Canelo move up to LHW for Kovalev, but can't do the same for Bivol & Beterbiev?

They already fought twice. How many chances should GGG get? GGG was clearly beat up after the rematch and needed a long rest. GGG didn't fight again for 9 months, while Canelo was back in the ring 3 months later.

He was willing to fight him, but he wasn't available. DAZN had to approve his opponents back then remember. Kovalev was a bigger name and that's who DAZN approved. DAZN would have probably preferred a 3rd fight with GGG but GGG was ordered to fight Derevyanchenko.

LOL GGG was in no condition to fight Canelo in May 2019. You know that. After that kind of a beating GGG was in no condition to fight Canelo again. GGG needed time to rebuild himself after that beating. If he would have fought Canelo again he woulda been sent into early retirement.

GGG had never taken a beating like that, and hasn't again since. The closest thing was his very controversial win over Derevyanchenko.

GGGs entire legacy revolves around a controversial draw with Canelo.

So these GGG fanatics and Canelo haters think Canelo's legacy should also revolve around Golovkin. Truth is it doesn't and shouldn't. Golovkin will be a small footnote in Canelo's great career, a man who gave him two difficult fights.. other than that I can't see what people will remember Golovkin for.

For all those keeping score. Beterbiev and Bivol were both unavailable because they were both scheduled to fight in OCT. Of the top 3 in the div. Kova was the only one available.

The better question is, why haven't Bivol and Beterbiev fought each other??

They both became LHW champions on Nov. 2017. That's 4 year ago. Yet here we are talking about Canelo fighting them.

Kovalev also became champion that same month, Nov. 2017.

Kovalev, Bivol, and Beterbiev all picked up world titles in Nov. 2017.

Why didn't they fight each other, why haven't they? I need answers.

I think they have a much bigger obligation to fight each other than Canelo fighting them.

It's not like they afraid of fighting each others...well maybe Bivol is a little afraid(see his interview about beterbiev) you have to look elsewhere
like they're promoters. They don't have enough notoriety to call the shots like Canelo do.
Have a great exemple of that; have you follow Joe Smith next bout lately? he was eager to fight Beterbiev just after he KO Eleider Alvarez...and do your research! because im tired to explaining to people who don't follow boxing closely.im out

I don't know if that means anything. He wanted to win the title. Hearns moved up and fought Andries (whom I think was tougher at that point that Kovelev when Canelo fought him), and then moved back and fought at middleweight and then supermiddleweight.. He wanted the belt and wanted to stay busy while Ray fought Marvin a month after Hearns vs. Andries.

Canelo right now is in the position of all the top dogs before him where it’s never enough, no matter who he fights he ducked someone else and even when he fights them they weren’t that good anyway.. as far as Kovalev well he was a few fights removed from being a 3-belt holder at 175 and was the most decorated Champion in the entire division and still top 3. I know it’s a lot of revisionist history but universally everybody at the time thought Kovalev-Ward fights were controversial with award getting dropped and arguably losing the first and needing to low bow repeatedly to win the 2nd he took an L to E.Alvarez who he clearly beat in the rematch and won all but 1 round vs Yarde before the fight Kovalev was picked to stop Canelo up until it was actually signed. Canelo has already moved up 5 divisions 147-68/75 outside of Oacquaio that’s typically max any 175 fight is really just a cherry on top frfr. In an ideal situation these guys need to start eliminating EACH OTHER, bertibev needs to unify vs bivol winner gets Canelo, Benavidez vs Charlo winner gets Canelo GGG vs Andrade winner gets Canelo..would make for better fights as we’d get to see whose actually on that level to possibly challenge Canelo!
