He'll be a PPV star if a promoter believes people will PPV, and even more so if people actually do PPV. It's that simple.

Nothing to do with how good he is.

    So your making it up??

he never said he would fight DA. And he never fought Kelly. So no robbery ever took place.

No, I said Benn was saying he would fight Kelly next, but Kelly lost, so why didn't he fight Avanesyan then?

from the above I’m just clearly stating Benn never said he would fight DA. So what reason is there to fight him? Guy brings nothing to the table

Cool but the posters not making anything up

Benn did call Kelly out loads, the poster just means as Kelly got best he wondered why Benn didn't aim for DA instead

Your right, DA brings little to the table

I dont think anyone every questioned that

He needscto steer clear if he wants to keep earning as DA beats the living hell outta him

    And i dont mind Connor

avanesyan brings nothing to the table for benn? I'm struggling to follow the train of logic on the thread but is that your opinion?

Eddie Hearn can just be honest and say that they are in the process of building up Conor Benn, but that it is going to take time. It is important to have patience etc.

It is as if when there is a camera / media nearby then Eddie Hearn can not control himself in his eagerness to sell the boxes / event and then it is often that he is telling something that does not match with the truth.

Course it does. I don’t think he’d sell well on Ppv fighting Chris Algieri, for example

What does he bring No belt and less money.
Save fighting those type of fights for when your in title contention

He would be closer to a world title shot and belt if he beat avanesyan..and I'm sure he would get at least parity in payment to what he's getting for algieri.

He’s getting more to fight Algieri. Not the same.

being closer to a world title is easily done by paying a sanctioning fee for an intercontinental title. Benn is ahead of DA in most rankings and if it’s just a case of being closer to a title he will be the same having beat a former world champion.

Why doesn’t Frank back his man and pay out some money for someone like barrios or Egidijus Kavaliauskas for DA. It’s because he has zero profile and both of those guys won’t take the fight too. Benn has a profile in the UK and they need him to be able to sell DA.

The biggest point people keep seeming to miss is that Benn doesn’t need to be closer to a title shot at this stage. He’s not ready for a world title fight. He’s not ready for DA or a belt. These fights are to get him ready to

I agree with you about him not being ready for any of the top guys and algieri is good matchmaking for him,but to say avanesyan doesn't bring anything to the table I don't agree with as he's very highly ranked in every alphabet and ahead of benn in all apart from the ibf(for some reason) he's going to have to beat an avanesyan type eventually before he gets near a title shot so he does bring something to the table imo.

Benn is higher in the WBA and IBF. He will likely go down the WBA route. He will fight a DA type but it will be someone who they can sell to viewers. That people recognise. My guess is they are circa two years off a title shot providing he keeps progressing. I think they go for Guerrero, Josesito Lopez or victor Ortiz in his next two and look to try and tempt Shawn Porter for his step up this time next year.

Shawn Porter after he loses to Crawford is a much bigger, sellable fight than DA

This is the problem, Hearn was selling Josh Kelly Vs Benn for a year, tried to get Kelly a European title so he could justify Kelly Vs Benn as a PPV fight and said Benn will fight the winner even if it's Avanesyan.

Then Kelly gets battered by Avanesyan and Hearn and Benn run a mile, that was embarrassing enough.

But now Hearn is taking Benn on a world tour of old faded shot fighters and it won't get better for some time, after Algieri it will be somebody like Robert Guerrero, Victor Ortiz, then he will try for Khan or Broner and so on and so on.

Hearn will BS his way through at least 2 years of this, unless DAZN have any say or can apply some sort of pressure on Hearn to deliver better opposition and I doubt that, it will be fans who are the only ones who can pressure them to step it up to live opponents.

Not convinced he will even get past Algieri. Out of all of the fighters he's faced to date, Algieri is the biggest potential banana peel of them all.
