Sanderline Williams, with a record of 24 - 15 - 1. Only lost TKO once against Lindell Holmes. He's an unknown journeyman who had a rock solid chin. Dude fought devastating punchers including the likes of Gerald McClellan, James Toney, Don Lee, Iran Barkley, Merqui Sosa, Nigel Benn and Dwight Davison and was only knocked out by Lindell Holmes who is a respectable puncher in his own right. So thoughts about his chin? He could be a middleweight Mo Wilson. If I put all the names, he also fought - Herol Graham - Reggie Johnson - Frank Tate Are you sure that he was knocked out by Holmes? Or is it by fluke? was it just by cut, broken right hand or something?
He was actually very skilled and very tough. His fight vs Iran could have gone either way. Tate totally outclassed him which actually surprised me. Held Toney to a draw. Gave Benn all he wanted. Lindell could crack and actually went to the KRONK for years. Don Lee had some power knocked out Tony Sibson.
Hopefully the below isn't "irrelevant" to your thread lol Williams was only knocked down twice in his pro career, he took a knee against Lindell Holmes and was dropped by Gerald McClellan. The only stoppage loss Williams suffered in his 15 defeat was to Lindell Holmes but it was due to a cut.
I saw quite a few of his fights back in the day. He was a difficult fighter to dominate. Gave a lot of talented men trouble. I think his chin was indeed very solid
Sanderline didn't take a lot of punches. He was more of a spoiler than anything. I remember his fights with Essett, Barkley, Benn, McClellan, etc. He was difficult to hit flush. Marion Wilson ate shots all night long every night.
