Granite chin, very good skills and very fast hands.

    Thoughts?

What exactly would you consider a game and focused Joseph Parker?

Would you say his mediocre title winning performance vs Andy Ruiz, or going 12 rds with the awful Cojanu who got KO2 by Ortiz in his very next fight. Maybe the lackluster MD performance against Hughie Fury or the lack of aggression performance he displayed against Anthony Joshua. Or maybe it’s the best of them all the sloppy fight vs Dillian Whyte??

Joseph Parker is who he is there is no such thing as a game, focused version of him..

He's a fighter who will turn out to be far worse than the sum of his parts.

He's decent but his power proved to be overrated once he stepped up in competition.

If he can get motivated and work on his speed he can give some top fighters trouble. The problem is he always looks lathargic and doesn't seem too hard to hit.

His strengths on paper were his speed and his assumed iron chin. I'm not sure his chin is iron but i think it isn't too bad. He seems to have gotten a bit slower and more bulkier as he's fought better opponents.

I'm not sure he can improve his boxing ability enough at this stage because i don't think he's a particularly smart person or an exceptional learner. I think if he works with Tyson Fury he'd learn much more. Parker used to throw feints earlier on in his career but stopped doing that as he moved forward against higher class opponents.

I think he falls into the same category of Whyte, Chisora, and Ruiz Jr. He could have his day in the sunshine again but ultimately be beaten in the end. He doesn't have the extra oomf to ever become something like an undisputed champion.

He's modest, unassuming and laid back in nature. Unfortunately it transcends into his boxing mindset/style to a general degree..

I think Parker would make a good probation officer. ;)

All of his attributes mean diddly with his terribly weak mentality which is the most important aspect of boxing ultimately.

You left out determination/heart, of which Parker has none.

He has the chin and fast hands but he doesn't have the technical skills. That's his big problem, he's always had natural ability but never had the tools to make the most of them. Motivation and focus won't do a thing for him if he still doesn't have the skills to make the most of his talent.

Forget it mate, it’s pointless with him. He’s probably got the best physical blend at heavyweight but he’s not champ material mentally. No killer in him

Yep, it appears when the going gets tough he has no forward gear in his transmission. As you said it's mental, it's just how he's wired.

Imagine him if he had it though. Big strong, fast, good tank, great chin. If I was his trainer I’d probably want to hit him myself out of frustration. Very physically gifted man. A genuine case of to nice for boxing, to soft

You gotta certify that chin as A Grade by now mate. If it’s waining it’s waining but it was a great asset once.

Joseph Parker seems to have the same mindset as the 1970s Jimmy Ellis. At this point, he seems to prefer just hanging out with Tyson Fury and being his sparring partner. And occasionally taking a fight with an unranked fighter here or there so his wife will keep letting him disappear for months at a time "at camp" while he's out taking off his shirt behind the DJ booth, taking selfies and hanging out at the clubs with Tyson.

His window appears to have closed.
