When fans talk fine performances, they think of Excellent Defense and Beautiful Boxing. They think about guys like Toney, Ali, Locche, Starling, etc... But what about punchers? They do not possess the supreme defensive skills that all of the above has. They possess knockouts and destruction, and here are the list of fine performances and destruction which these boxers has done. Here's how I rate it: 1. Destruction - How many times they had their opponents hurt, staggered, rocked and dropped. Displaying their punching power and whole ability as a puncher. 2. Effective Punches Landed - How many times they tag their opponents almost effortlessly with their punches. For example landing a big shot or smoothly or hitting them with 5 punch combination, something like that. Easily said the way they could repeatedly landing effective shots on their opponent. 3. Skillset Display - Every boxers has their own unique skillset. Some are known for their bodypunching, some are good in grappling, some are good at flurrying, some display excellent combination punching, some are defensively sound, etc etc. If they manage to show an excellent of their skillset, it puts up points. 4. Brutal Knockouts - The icing on the cake, the knockout. They just have to score the knockout I'll judge how good it was. Without further ado, here's my picks: 1. Jose Medel vs Fighting Harada 1 - Destruction at it's finest, Medel slowly and calmly trying to set up one of his devastating cross counters and tagged Harada with it. He showed a terrific display of counterpunching and constantly tag Harada with precise shots everytime he tried to blitz and flurried for his life. 3 knockdowns showed beautiful brutality and he ended it by knockout. 2. Juan Roldan vs Dennis Andries - Roldan at his best. Constantly charging on Andries and punishes him with combinations and big shots. Dude even showed amazing defense. Maybe the destruction display is a lot less, but the effective punches landed and skilset display is top notch. Ends the fight by knockout. 3. Merqui Sosa vs Lenzie Morgan - Man I freaking love Sosa! look how he breaks his man down, battered him with with vicious uppercuts and overhand rights. His awkwardness (his skillset) made Morgan unable to land a clean shot, His punches were crisp and the fight also ended the fight by knockout. 4. Lucas Matthyse vs Humberto Soto Although it's an entertaining slugfest, I do think that Matthyse was outslugging and the fight is more one sided than most people would've thought. He showed great bodypunching, effortlessly land huge shots with high accuracy and precision and the knockout at the end is much more brutal than all the guys above me did. 5. Antonio Margarito vs Sergio Martinez - Margarito's best performance, he actually dodge quite a good amount of punches. He was relentless and constantly chasing and pressuring Martinez, and when Martinez tried to fight back, he couldn't becuz he was overwhelmed by Margarito's superior strength and durabilty. The fight also ended by knockout. Thoughts? and if you have other punchers best performance you wanna share than please tell in this forum.
I still don't know how the hell Mayorga beat Vernon Forest twice. I could see the first fight when he blasted Forest out like a banger should but in the rematch he won via UD which I don't think anyone saw coming. Forest was one of the best US amateur boxers of the 90's and a pretty seasoned pro that just beat Mosley twice. Again, I could see Mayorga catching him like the first fight but the 2nd fight was a remarkable win for Mayorga who never was close to that good again.
Max Baer v Primo Carnera…one of my favorite fights. Just Max at his most savage. That knockdown in I believe the first or second round was superb. To many knock downs to count. Marciano v Charles 2…Marciano knocked him down early then got the cut then HAD to knock him out before they stopped the fight. The clinic he put on in the last round to save his belt was spectacular. Archie Moore v Embrell Davidson…was a short fight but the way Archie sent the 6”2 210 pound Davidson flying off his feet was something to watch Watching 70s Foreman beat up on Frazier and Norton was surreal. I wasn’t alive for it but knowing the history and the fighters and watching him destroy those two legends was brutal. Same w Liston against Patterson.
Mike Tyson vs Pinklon Thomas. It was brutal, his finishing combination was a sight to behold. I've never seen a heavyweight throw hooks that fast in combination. Not before, not since.
Jack Dempsey vs Jess Willard. Jack looked like some kind of wild animal let loose. He most certainly wasn't pulling his punches and it was the most ruthless beatdown that I think I've ever seen. Jack wasn't going to give Willard any chances of a comeback after finally getting so close to becoming the new heavyweight champion. It kind of a do or die situation for Jack who had lived a hard life. Also the Kearns bet influenced Jack to try to put Jess away as quickly as possible. We most likely won't be seeing another fight like that.

Curry's ko of Mccory. Duran's ko of Moore , Cuevas and Lampkin. Trinidad's ko's of Pendelton , Blocker and Compas. Leonard's ko of Dave Green and Kalule. Gomez's ko of Lupe Pintor. Pryor's ko's of Arguello and D.Johnson Arguello's ko's of Mancini, Ganigan and Rooney. Cuevas's ko's of Clark and Bravo. Some off the top of my head. .

If I would have to say pure destruction alone, I'd go with Jeff Merritt's destruction over the "iron chinned" Ron Stander.
Nothing that won't be mentioned here, but Frazier Foreman 1. Absolutely brutal. Foreman looked like he was trying to kill Joe.
Joe Frazier vs Jimmy Ellis Joe was favored to beat Jimmy but the way he took him apart surprised people. Ellis was a good tough heavyweight who had won the elimination tournament. It was expected that Ellis would trouble Joe with his boxing skills and good right hand. Joe Frazier was at his absolute peak at that time. He was like PacMan the video game mowing Ellis down. No heavyweight had Ellis down until he met the fists of Frazer.
Thought Hearns destruction of Duran was breathtaking. Backed him up with a jab got him on the ropes jabbed to the body to get Duran to lower his hands and ..........BAM righthand on the chin. Same with Shuler fight. Dug hooks to the body and then came up quick with a one-two.
