Haha you're stoked by this news as you can carry on your act of Fury ducking Whyte when you know deep down underneath your agenda that Whyte doesn't have a chance against Fury
Hopefully the fight still happens with a smaller %, as I want Fury to get revenge for the covid ridden corpse of shot povetkin.
After ducking out of the Wallin fight with an "injury", I would find it remarkably humourous if the WBC ordered Whyte vs Wallin as a final eliminator to meet Fury.
Possibly his failed drugs tests before and after the Rivas fight? The ones that were mysteriously brushed under the carpet? I'd like to know too.
Whyte moans about his treatment from the WBC but he’s turned down 2 of their final eliminators offered, failed a drugs test before fighting their final eliminator, got knocked out whilst being mandatory, slagged them off at every opportunity and now pulled out of a fight the week before with an ‘injury’... it’s no wonder they don’t wanna work with him.
Fury v Joyce is one I’d like. Can’t not like Joyce — was a good amateur, Olympian, took very good learning fights, no trash talk or dodgy dealings like Whyte and he deserves a huge fight.
lol no way is Fury going to take Joyce as a voluntary. Also Dominic fkin Brezeale got a title shot ahead of him and I can’t remember him having to fight any eliminators?
I'd have liked to see Fury vs Whyte (ideally in the UK) would've been a good event. Interesting to see what Fury does now if the Whyte situation is dragged out, I'd be amazed if he fought Joyce as that would be a harder fight imo. He needs to keep active though. No point waiting around for the winner of Usyk vs Joshua without staying active.
That's not actually true, though. At the start, he did shut up and played nice: fought a title eliminator, paid sanctioning fees, held various WBC belts. It was only when they started trying to screw him, first skipping over him to make Stiverne v Breazeale (which never happened), then by refusing to make the final eliminator of Breazeale v Whyte, he started going public. But you got to remember he played nice for nearly two years after winning his initial eliminator...
Whyte knocked back the chance to fight Joshua @ Wembley for 3.5m when Whyte was WBO#1, WBC#1 and Ring#4. Hardly seems like a realistic offer now does it. They revised the offer to under 5m, and he agreed on the condition that if he won he would get 60-40 in the rematch (or a split to that effect). Joshua refused. They then offered Big Baby Miller 7m, who had no where near the profile of Whyte nor his resume. They then paid that amount to Ruiz Jr. who had been in the wilderness since Top Rank released him. The cynic in me thinks that doesn't sound like Joshua ever really wanted to fight Whyte at Wembley. It was merely a face saving exercise for his fan boys.
