Can't swerve guys who fight once a year if that and have no real fanbase outside of online. The only way I would fight Beterbitev is in Russia to get a crowd going or in Mexico. That is a good tv fight but terrible U.S. stadium fight.

I thought Canelo would at least do me a solid and put Golovkin out of his misery. He has been waiting so long his ball hairs are gray now.

Golovkin kicked his ass so it's not a fight he wants. But to be fair Golovkin hasn't done anything since.

I've seen Bivol live and his style and L.A. fanbase would do him good in MMA. Off topic but where are all the Russian MMA guys? They get no love in boxing outside of heavyweight. Shout out to Provodnikov.

I actually think if Canelo weighs in around 180 for his next fight against Makabu it will be a good tune up for Beterbiev

Canelo is gonna **** around and pull a Mikey Garcia where there are some good fights at 168 - 175 but he's skipping 2 divisions, Mikey went for the best though. Canelo sees something in Makabu. Fight Briedis or Doriticos if serious about going there. No one asked for a fight against Makabu.

Is Canelo the only fighter who gets criticized for not fighting the top champion straightaway every time he moves up a division?

It seems most other fighters don't get criticized for testing the waters in a division when they move up.

Different standard for Canelo as he's P4P #1 on many lists. He already fought at 175, and we know he'll be faster than most fighters there, so why skip that division. I don't think he's staying at cruiser anyway to say that he's acclimatizing to the division. It's his prerogative but that fight came out of left field when there are better fights people have been wanting to see.
