He gassed a bit but thats normal considering it was his first real test that went the distance in a 12 rounder. He looked good. Controlled the fight. Dropped a few rounds for sure but Inoue is solid and a legit test. He passed it. Impressive performance considering he fought a bunch of local cans and undersized opponents in the past and now really had a step up opponent that arguably beat Munguia in the past and has a very tricky style. As i said i'm not buying the hype yet but if he can beat another one or two guys on the same level as Inoue i'm definitely in.

Shite scorecards but good performance by Tszyu, he's ready to fight a champion now.

I wouldn't say Inoue arguably beat Munguia. The best I could see is 116-112, I didn't even think he got within range of a draw. But the rest of it, fine... he did okay, but still, it was similar to how a far more bummier green version of Munguia performed and this is supposed to be a polished version of Tim. That should be a worrying sign.

Somebody on the Aussie thread (I think it was Midnite?) recently said that while Tszyu is the biggest name domestically at the moment, GKJ is the actual best young fighter in Oz.

After seeing this step up performance I am inclined to agree. Tszyu clearly isn't a bad fighter, but mopping up what had been left of Horn after the Zerafa rivalry, then stopping Hogan, then 9-3ing Takeshi Inoue all just signify a "decent" one. Not a potential world class elite as Kambosos has the opportunity to prove himself in a couple of weeks.

Of course if he gets crushed, that just means there are no really world class fighters down under at the moment.

Kombosos is clearly a better fighter to me than Tyszu. Still Lopez should be able to beat him pretty convincingly.

Because Tim comes across like a spoiled entitled twat and many of us don't like him personally.:nusenuse:

Still, it didn't affect our scoring, and that's all that matters. We aren't here to be cheerleaders.:cheer:

Yeah, if you're going to walk the gilded path of nepotism you'd better at least bring it and be main event worthy in entertainment value if not ability. Look at someone like Diego De La Hoya, his cousin was the most famous fighter in the world for many years, but he toils away on undercards earning his own opportunities and never complains.

If you're going to be handed a large platform because of your name, okay, fine, but don't you dare underwhelm on that stage.

Media down here calling it a "boxing masterclass" :rolleye:

I think he did pretty good. He seemed very strong in there he basically bossed Inoue around the ring all night but yeah he needs more hard fights like this where they don't just capitulate so easy. Sugar Takeshi had him missing by miles sometimes.

I need to know why you have a freeform-cropped image of Kitano's head with no background.

    Thats a bit unfair.

Tim made his debut in front of like a 100 people in a function centre.
One of his earlier fights was staged in the same venue my brother had his wedding reception...and he didn't even headline.

He had quite a few fights way down the card off T.V before his name probably did start to give him a leg up. But he was winning decisively and showing ability aswell.

Even with his name he went into the fight with Horn as the B-Side agreeing to just about all their conditions they tried to force on to him to stack the deck in Jeff's favour.

He is by no means a Campbell Hatton.
