If Canelo clears and be undisputed at 160, 175 and beats Makabu at 190-200, will he be the GOAT for you?

What if he moves up to HW and beats Usyk? That'd really shut people up and cement himself as the GOAT.

Canelo was never undisputed at MW though. Is he going back down to MW? Let's unravel this:

JMW, he was a titlist, but arguably lost to the 3 best guys he fought (officially 2-1)
MW, he was a unified champion but arguably lost to the best guy he fought (officially 1-0-1), there are also titlists that were "sidestepped"
SMW, undisputed (congrats) however one belt he has belonged to someone (still currently active, at that weight) who never lost it in the ring and is still considered the most dangerous in the division.
LHW, he beat a titlist who at the time I believe was ranked at #4 in the division.

So in reality, he hasn't actually "cleared" anything. I respect what he's doing at SMW, he's killing it. But let's not act like he's cleaned up every division he's been at, he definitely didn't. So no, beating Makabu at CW would not make him the GOAT. He has misses in every weightclass and Makabu is arguably only the 4th or 5th best at the weight

I don't like to tear down champions/titlists accolades but I also don't like people going crazy over dominance that ain't really dominance.

And Trout. Also note the guy you're quoting said arguably, not did.

Benavidez may have lost the belt but that doesn't change the idea that to clear out the division he should fight the largest threat, who is Benavidez.

What kind of question is that man? I doubt he can ever squeez back down to 160, especially if he does end up fighting "Mackaboo" at CW..
