strategically it makes all the sense. if he plans to fight all three, losing this one, and he still has the other 2. he loses one of the other 2 first, and the remaining 2 are dead. he will probably go with beterbiev first, then maybe big fight in mexico, or texas, if outside vegas, vs bivol. and be looking for the right opportunity to stick a benavidez and a charlo in there, when the timing lends itself. its what i would do, and his whole career has made sense to me. oh, and anyone who thinks he wont fight these guys because hes fighting makabu, you aint been watching this dude.
Canelo's head, neck, and chin about twice the size of Mac-A-Boo. He has circumference around the forehead, but small chin, lol. I wasn't too high on the cruiser champion having seen mostly his Bellew, Kydryashov, and Papin fights but upon further inspection, he has some good old school skills. He also has a good jab, power, and doesn't run away from opponents. Should be a decent scrap but they picked him for a reason.
Canelo is probably going to go with the GGG 1 plan. Make Makabu plod after him and feed him counters thrown from the front seats.
I am rooting for Makabu, and it is not just because I don't like Canelo. I was very happy for Makabu when he stepped up and won the belt, and was looking forward to his fight with Mchunu.
What makes it a farce? Canelo continues to dare to be great by seeking out World Champs at much higher weights. Why do you always feel the need to reign on his parade? He's doing wonders for boxing and you just completely no sell everything he does. Canelo might be biting off more than he can chew with this guy, the least you can do is recognize the diffculty involved in this challenge.
So is it at CW & not a catchweight then? Fix is in anyway… The obscure CW has won the lottery here and he'll stick to the script, there is no way the powers that be will let him win this fight..
I really really hope no dives are taken or he doesn't lay down in this fight, I'd lose all the respect I have for Makabu.
Makabu looks like he has won the lottery, all smiles and happiness. Where's the venom? Where's the spite? Where is the anger that some middleweight thinks I'm soft touch and can just step up and take my belt? It's a crap show already?
