Yes but he had been diluting it with orange juice. He drank it straight from the bottle after the Ward bout.
Kovalev should have punched him in the balls in the second fight. He thought those corrupt assholes would DQ Ward? Lol
This was the start of Kovalev's fall. Had he gotten the decision against Ward like he should have I honestly think his career would have gone in a different path. Despite the bad decision in awarding Ward the win he still gets props for showing resilience and no quit in him. He made some adjustments in the fight and not let the KD discourage him so he gets credit for that.
You mean when he punches you in the nuts? You are lucky you'll never know how that feels, since you have no balls,
Clear win for Kovalev. I've seen it several times and there's no other conclusion you can reasonably make. It's Kovalev with the clean, effective punching, dictating the majority of the fight. Ward with the ineffective rough housing that, while nullifying some of Kov's offense, didn't do much damage or cause much fatigue. The reactions said it all: Ward in shock, believing he'd lost, Kovalev in shock believing he'd won. Sad outcome as it clearly ruined Kovalev and was the first fight between two top 5 p4p fighters in a long, long time.
I think Harold Lettermans card was not good. a lot of people at the time had the same score which was what the rounds 7-12 3-3?? Let me just say I always felt this was a close fight that did not have a lot of close rounds. I felt rounds 1,2, 6, 10 were clear kovalev rounds while 3,5,7,8,9,11 were Clear Ward round 4 and 12 I had as swing rounds. I gave kovalev 4 and Ward 12. but I could have easily gave 12 to Kovalev to make it 114-113 (with the knockdown) I dont really see how people could give rounds 3 and 5 to Kovalev at all. Im assuming that Harold Letterman did. I always thought Kovalev got round 10 which all 3 judges gave to ward. as for the second fight for those that says ward tried to get himself dq'd to find a way out and was lucky to get a ko that's just using your imagination. Kovalev was badly hurt to the head. Kovalev was fully bending over at his waist. the ref should have broke them during a low blow and said "that's a low blow" and turn to Kovalev and say "you're bending over at the waist that's why he's hitting you low stop that"
that should have been a break for the low blow and also a warning for bending over at the waist (that's not allowed either) but Kovalev was clearly bad hurt to the head and given his recovery skills after I doubt he came back to stop ward.
I think that's fair enough and agree there should have been a break. Andre is a difficult nights work for anyone just ask Froch or Kessler both of which were bullied by SOG.
