It’s been said a million times but he’s been managed well in terms of matchmaking and fighting whilst promotional stuff he’s been managed poorly.

But with Sky fully behind him his fight with Catterall will be quite big and he will spitefully take him apart and stop him, the casuals will lap it up and he will become (more of) a star overnight.

    He's a top rank fighter.

He's not going to be the face of sky boxing.

    Spot on.

I thought it was an act at first, but he's a genuinely moody tosser & bully.

And he's Scotch. Historically, the jocks aren't big drawers.

This has been my take on him also, especially in the build-up to the Ramirez fight.

There is no questioning his talent and performances but Josh Taylor does not translate well when the media spotlight is on him, especially during fight week.

Having said that, if he was more media-friendly like AJ he probably wouldn't be the elite-level fighter he currently is.

As his profile grows along with the Sky media machine behind him, I think he will tone it down in the future. Unlike Chisora, with Taylor, it does not seem like an act to sell tickets or generate a bigger payday.

I think Taylor's mentality is that he love's having a tear-up both in and outside the ring and in that respect he is a throwback.

I like Taylor’s personality tbh, just comes across real and down to earth to me. He’s going in to have a fight at the end of the day and it’s his natural demeanour when he’s about to have a scrap with someone.

I always get the sense with Taylor that what you see is what you get. None of the fake humble stuff like with AJ or Buatsi and none of the cringe forced stuff like Conor Benn.

    100 %

His antics during the Ramirez fight week caught me off-guard as it was the first time I watched all the build-up along with a Taylor fight, which just highlights how much his career has gone under the radar in the past.

I have watched a lot more since then, and as you said I think that is just his personality and natural demeanor. He is confident enough to be himself on camera in that he does not have to create an alter-ego for the media and general public. He also has the performances to back up the self-belief he has and hopefully the recognition and purses he deserves come his way on the Sky platform.

I have never really followed Buatsi but I agree with your comments about AJ and Conor Benn.

He might like a row, but he goes about it like a child and not a professional.

He showed his true colours when he was slagging off Regis. And Regis is an incredibly decent chap, and criminally underrated.

JT is just a typical scotch bloke. Full of himself, acts the bully, and has no class.

He's elite, bit I couldn't care about watching him tbh.

There isn’t a typical “scotch” bloke in the sense your talking I dont think, look at josh and look at Ricky burns, 2 completely different personalities both Scottish.

I too mostly prefer you say lomachenko type personality, but as it is I like him, yes he can seem moody and aggravating but he’s an elite prizefighter, many of them are including people who are worshipped e.g. Tyson, Duran, la motta. He’s no we’re near the worst example in boxing.
