Yes! Better than nothing. Murat is still only 28. When Usyk, Wilder and Fury are exiting stage left, and Joshua is the old man of the division, the Iron Man will make his move. Until then, stay in shape and make a few bucks on the Rudenkos of the division.
Coppinger tweets that the New York State Athletic Commission has refused to approve Hunter vs De Mori (WBA #9). Next step: Triller moves this event to Florida.
Another question I have is, if they can't, why not fight more often? If these low to mid-level scrubs are all you can get, than go the Foreman route and fight once every couple of months. Be visible to the fans and THEY will create the demand that leads to big fights. I think the bottom line is that Hrgovic is just not as good as we were sold. Good luck to him. I have nothing against him, but even if he wins a belt, he is already knocking on the door of too old to have an "era."
I think he WAS as good as we were sold, but by now he's probably declined and has lost his momentum and due to lack of meaningful activity and soft opposition.
He’s 29. Claiming that he’s declined sounds a little lame when the 2 previous long reigning HW champions did their best work into their 30s. If he can’t get a contender, he should look for other aging prospects who’re also looking to break through, like Makhmudov, Frank Sanchez, Kossobutsky, Dycko. (Though noone knows what the hell Dychko is looking to do with his career)
