Yeah I seem to be in the minority where I actually quite like Eubank jnr. Sure he had delusions of his level but i always thought he comes across as a genuine guy who loves to fight.

Wonder if Sky are trying to save the show as would have thought an announcement would have been made by now.

I had no problem with this as long as the fight was re-scheduled for early 2022 as Jan and Feb are the worst times of the year for boxing but at this stage I am beginning to think something is is going on in the Williams camp.

Pulling out 2 days after a press conference, and then 2-3 days later total silence about what this mystery 'injury' could be?? I agree with whoever said Liam's behavior at the press conference was very strange, and out of character for him.

if I had to put money on it I would say it is either to do with Dominic Ingle and a disagreement which has escalated to the point where Liam does not want to fight a possibly career defining fight in just 3 weeks time and/or preparation for the fight which either or both of them feel has not went well enough, they have panicked and pulled out.

It's ironic that the three fights we have lost this winter are arguably the 3 best fights involving British fighters:

Buatsi vs Vlasov (dubious to say the least)
Eubank Jnr vs Williams (as above)
Taylor vs Catterall (I believe this is a genuine knee injury, no doubts here for me)

To be honest I like him too. He is teak tough and loves a scrap, and is great entertainment.

It was why the fight intrigued me so much. I think Eubank would outman Williams if it was that sort of fight.

The Dad and the charade etc makes you see why he can be disliked. For me is a pantomime villain role, he seems decent enough

Yeah behind all the bravado / on camera arrogance, Eubank seems a decent person. There's always still that part of me that wants to see him get beat, but I'd probably root for him if he fought Saunders again

I like Eubank I don’t get all the hate. He has a few solid wins and has tested himself at the top level unlike a lot of fighters out there, protecting the undefeated record until cashing out.

he bottled the GGG fight but he did fight Saunders and Groves.

I can see the appeal of Jnr but you'd have to have buried your head in the sand for ten years to not see why he can be extremely unlikeable. He's a brat. He beat up some kid in sparring and made a big thing about it, he has talked big in the past and delivered small. His comments after the Golovkin v Brook fight were ridiculous, if there was anyone in the World who should have kept his mouth shut after that fight it was him and for him to mention the warrior code, him and his dad, it was just terribly poor. His dad will be remembered for being a warrior in the ring who would fight anyone, Jnr, for me, is the lad that was moddy coddled and didn't have it in him when it really mattered.

Nah can’t agree with this mate. Re the Golovkin fight breaking down - remember Hearn said afterwards that it was largely due to some ridiculous demands that Eubank Sr was making around the commentary team and ticket prices amongst other things. By all accounts Eubank Jr wasn’t involved in those negotiations, it was Sr who caused that fight to fall apart.

Throughout his career Eubank Jr has gone to other people’s hometowns and fought them. He jumped to SMW where he was at a massive size disadvantage to test himself in the WBSS.

I don’t think anyone can deny that Eubank Jr is a warrior in the ring like his dad and he’s fan friendly in the ring too with his style.

Yeah he has made some obnoxious comments in the past regarding people quitting in fights but let’s be honest, when has Eubank Jr ever quit? He’s entitled to make those sort of comments if he hasn’t quit himself. Maybe it will come back to bite him but tbh I don’t see Eubank Jr ever quitting in a fight.

Come on, he didn't test himself in the WBSS. He entered because that was the easiest way for him to make big coin, that's all. The SMW lineup wasn't exactly a murderers row of fighters either.

Eubank wants the biggest money fight and he'll take the easiest path of resistance too that. Partly because he can't charge PPV at the moment now people have seen his level.

He knows a world title changes that and gives him bargaining power.

He beat Mr Robot - Avni Yildirim, to be fair it was a good shot he put him down with but Yildirim lost 3 on the bounce not long after and lost to Jack Cullen this year.

Smith fought the kickboxer Nieky Holzken and I think the Groves fight flattered him. Groves was starting to take over after round 3 but overreached with his ambition after landing some shots and got caught.

I think Smith will improve now he's moved up in weight and a new trainer, at least I hope he does as I think he does have grit in him but seemed quite safety conscious before when fighting.

It’s official Liam Williams is a **** house bottle job.
After this stunt he doesn’t deserve another payday in my view. Let him rot.

He can’t even be bothered to tell us what “injury” he has. I see reports are just that he has an “injury”.

You shouldn’t be allowed to pull out this late from fights with BS excuses.

I agree with some of the above. Eubank trains like a monster and gives 100% in every bout. I like that in a fighter. Some of the same people hating on Eubank were fans of Dave Allen, who once sat outside the ring on a PPV show laughing while saying he spent his camp in KFC.
