They clearly love one another. Shawn is the good son. He loves his Dad whether he disagrees with him or not. You seem must upset than Shawn about the stoppage.

Kenny seems like a complete narcissist and ready to screw over his own son’s reputation just to be appeased.
I noticed in the lead up “blood sweat and tears” behind the ropes series how much he was berating Shawn and telling him just to do what he was told.
To speak about his son like that and effectively spank him like a child post fight to millions right in front of him was a P.O.S move. You would only ever do that to tell the world you are in charge.

Shawn has never been stopped. He was clearly fully alert after the 2nd KD as he immediately showed his anger at being caught again by punching the canvas. His dad stamped a black mark on his record that he would not otherwise have had.

    scru him.

Perhaps we need to be more understanding of a father protecting his son:

Kenny Porter really came across as a POS he stopped the fight to prove a point to his son that hes the one in charge and then he threw his son under the bust in the post fight interview. Lucky for him that Shawn is a class act he should have left his ass a long time ago.

Truly nail it my friend! Shawn has never been stopped...and if his management(his lousy father) cherry pick like others boxer do,then he maybe got a chance to win a belt.It will be a much better achievement than to retiring at the verge of gaining more money, fame, recognition,
and at peace of mind that he tries his best.

Shawn Porter got dropped and he stopped it straight away

He wasn't even hurt, he started punching the canvas in anger

    lol what a joke.

Meanwhile Wilder & Fury fought on near empty round after round whilst badly hurt, all guts and heart.

If someone stopped Wilder or Fury on their feet like that in that position they'd probably kill them.

    bizarre

Ref should have ignored the corner tbh.

I felt Crawford was clearly in control but that was way too premature.

This! Shawn Porter was(sight, sad) a warrior and fough like a mad lion in this fight but his father thought he had enough of a beating
after the two KDs...wich is really fishy if you think of it,sure he's got injured by a head butt by rushing Crawford, but his cut man
have stop the bleeding in no time.So what's the rush to stop the fight damn it! He was still throwing punch and protect himself...the fight
    should and
certainly have to continue to see a proper boxing match...It's was for a TITLE MATCH! damn it!

I was trying to be open-minded about the stoppage even though it seemed premature -- "his father and trainer would know best," etc. How likely could it be the father and trainer would make a call not motivated by the desire to help his son?

But as soon as Kenny got the mic it seemed clear other, less than benevolent, motivations were not just possible, but more likely than not. The stoppage seemed ego-driven: purely to teach his son a lesson about listening to him. Who knows. Maybe Shawn wasn't prepared and was blowing off good advice, but I struggle to believe that after the performance. And then demoralizing and humiliating Shawn like that? Dreadful. Go ahead and criticize weaknesses in private, but in front of the whole world? How is Shawn supposed to overcome that mentally and emotionally? My god, it's no wonder he retired.

I'm sorry to say my prediction would be Shawn would lose on the judges' cards after those KDs, even after being up on my cards, but he earned the right to continue. Plenty of fighters have come back from behind -- Crawford did it himself in that fight.

I wish Shawn all the best. **** Kenny.

The dad seems to be a habitual line stepper and shawn is too nice to check him.

Reminds me of when Eubank Snr was trying to get the limelight from Jnr's career, and forced Jnr to freeze him out.

Except it's not Shawn's last fight.

    Not by a country-mile

They both felt they didn't have the stomach for enduring a beating.

They want to dish it to others, but would rather avoid taking it themselves.

Both will be back within a year,

    you'll see.
