Crawford going with Showtime is a shoe in. Josh Taylor wont get a chance to fight for WW title at this rate.
Enjoyed Chris Lloyd breaking down Crawford Porter for me. Was really struggling to pick a winner until his expert analysis.
I was the opposite. I posted in the general at the time but I was surprised at how close people had it. Yeah I thought Porter was more aggressive and credit it to him, he had his last chance at a world title and he left everything in the ring, he threw everything at Crawford. Bud on the other hand was similar to Canelo v Plant for me. Always looked in control, always looked a level above, was never in trouble and you could sense he had more gears in him to take it up a notch when he wanted. Crawford was so slick, sharp, just all round brilliant.
It's true that it does not look particularly good for DAZN / Matchroom UK, but Eddie Hearn will soon have to pull a rabbit out of his hat, especially if Canelo does not return to DAZN.
PBC would be the obvious and all-natural choice but DAZN has huge financial muscles. Agree with Jurgen that it will be very exciting to follow.
Totally agree with both fights. Two exceptional elite talents at work, never in any danger of losing the fights, against 2 opponents who gave their all. Plenty of commentators and posters see what they want to see at times with many rooting for the underdog and hoping for a shock.
I had Porter up by 1 going into the 10th but it was only going one way. Porter started quick with really intelligent pressure, and even though Bud said he figured him out in the 1st in reality it was probably around the 4th / 5th that Bud started letting his hands go. After the 6th Crawford did as he liked, and it did seem to be heading towards a stoppage before it actually occurred.
Surprised how many had Porter winning at the time of the stoppage. Classic case of the underdog doing better than expected so people misinterpret that as them winning the fight.
I can’t remember which one but Porter thought he had success and Crawford knew it, he purposely let him empty the tank on him and just rode all the shots. Lost the round because of it but Porter emptied everything on him and didn’t hurt him. That’s when he started to proper takeover after that.
Anybody mentioned the disgrace that was Porter's old man post fight calling his son lazy just after getting TKO'ed by arguably the best talent in boxing P4P right now ?? All while wearing a pair of diamond ring earrings and all kinds of other bling all paid for by his lazy, good for nothing son no doubt. Cracking win for Bud who was always a step ahead of Porter as good as he was/is. All that's left now is Crawford - Spence and the winner fights our Josh if he fits in at Welter which I believe he will. Good at times at 147 and British boxing in this department.
Yeah Porter's dad didn't come across very well at all. PBC have a bit of a stranglehold over 147 at the minute and with Crawford probably signing for them too it may be difficult for Taylor to get a shot at one of the belts as they'll probably keep everything in house. Do the WBO still do the thing where undisputed champs become mandatory for the WBO belt in the division above? That would be his best chance if so.
I've seen Eddie Hearn call Chris Lloyd for the future of boxing broadcasting but I'm not that impressed. He's doing an o.k. job, but not something I'm blown away by.
