Had a few questions but first my observations: Spence was sitting front row last night, after saying he would never attend a Crawford fight, and got boo'd as he left the arena immediately after Crawford won. This thread is NOT about who would win Crawford VS Spence, more about Spence's current state of mind. Why did Spence leave right away? Why did Spence not offer either fighter congratulations on their efforts backstage? Would Spence have jumped into the ring to challenge Porter had Porter won? Is Spence trying to age Crawford out? After his car crash with facial injuries and then the entire retina situation that derailed the Pacquiao fight, yeah, I think Spence doesn't want anything to do with Crawford. Thoughts on Spence and his current state of mind? (Keep it Civil)
I heard or saw somewhere (can't remember where, exactly. might have been here might have been toob) that Spence said that he intended to go into the ring and call out the winner. Is there any truth to that? If there is, your questions are much more uncomfortable.
As a big Spence fan I'm ready to admit that if Crawford/Spence does not get made soon it's mainly cause of ES.
me too. although i dont believe for a second spence thinks crawford can beat him. i understand spence telling him to **** off when crawford was demanding 50/50 when offered a 40/60 split. but i think crawford has earned some more parity in splits since then. if he were to move up without fighting crawford, it would be on him.
Spence 100% ducked Crawford. Spence is tailor made for Crawford. Crawford slices and dices Spence and stops him. Even Team Crawford knows this and said that Thurman is a tougher fight than Spence. It's why Crawford and Bomac both said Thurman is a tougher fight.
Spence just seems like a typical Al Haymon fighter they are not allowed to make any decisions themselves.
I think Spence does want Crawford. But the field has to be lvl. 50-50 split. As to reason why he walked off, it's probably because This content is protected Porter and his camp threw the towel in as soon as the going got tough. That was some weak ass Brit type stoppage right there.
Yeah that was painful to watch. The second Porter hit his glove on the canvas, mad at himself, I was reminded of Douglas doing the same thing versus Tyson in Tokyo. Imagine if right after that knockdown Buster Douglas team tossed in the towel.
He was disappointed at Kenny Porter stopping the fight early. ESPN wasn't going to let Spence come in that ring. Maybe if it was on Showtime network he could have. The fight will happen in 2022!
Stop the nonsense! Thurman is not a tougher fight than Spence. Spence is far from Taylor made for Crawford. He's style is a problem for Crawford. Please explain how he ducked Crawford. Crawford is on record saying he don't want to fight Spence, nor need him.
Im not sure I'm prepared to make all of those assumptions. Spence has just had a lot of misfortune between the wreck and the eye. If i were spence i would certainly take a tune up and that shouldn't be considered a duck I will say spences time may be running out with new blood climbing the ranks and closing in
Bob Arum just wants a Crawford-Taylor fight in the UK…. I’m glad Crawford ditched him. The real money is in the Spence fight, which is the Canelo-GGG fight of this era. (and could break ppv records?) Spence was brought there by PBC so they could create anticipation for the Crawford Spence fight.. it’s not in his personality to rush the ring like Tyson Fury did against Wilder years ago and demand to fight the victor who in this case was Crawford. He will leave that to the promoters…
