Only thing I disagree with is that I think the best v Porter performance was from memory, Kell Brook. Apart from not getting the stoppage he had him as under control as anyone else
It showed what I've known for years. Crawford will have problems with Spence. Crawford is a slow starter and you can build an early lead on him. He's stronger in the later rounds and can't be counted out until the fight is over. Porter was able to win most of the early rounds without a jab. Spence has a very good jab. Porter got caught on bout knockdowns jumping in, and Crawford countered him both times. Crawford has great timing and finally figured Porter's timing. Spence is discipline and fundamentally sound fighter. He won't make that mistake. Porter failed to attack Crawford's body because he would wrap Porter up when he got in close. Spence is the best inside fighter at welterweight with great body attack. He's going to not just head hunt, but have a balanced attack to the body. His whole style is affective pressure with plenty of body attack to break you down, and only gets stronger as the fight goes on. His punching output is the highest volume output of all the welterweights too.
The fight was close up until the 10th round, I thought Porter was ahead but Crawford was coming on strong at that point. The stoppage was weird though, I never felt that Porter wouldn't make it out of the round. I'd say it's helped Crawford, but not as much as he would of hoped for, like, he's answered some questions but not all of them.
Shawn Porter is one hell of a fighter and Bud busted him up and stopped him. I don't see how that could hinder anyone
thats what im thinking. What do you think? I saw crawford dominating, landing all the hard shots. He just missed a counter upper in the previous round and had run porter into some real bodyshots unlike the fantasy canelo bodyshots. I thought porter was a deadman before the stoppage. Crawford tossed him around like a child early. Porter landed nothing that bothered terence the whole fight. Alot of posters in this forum got caught up with the announcers correographing this fight and the canelo plant fight. Porter and canelo have to score points to win a round. LMAO, never seen 2 guys do nothing like canelo and porter and win rounds. hilarious.
seriously though, porters dad saw the shots that hurt his son. Those bodyshots were serious. Not mythical canelo bodyshots. They took the will out of shawn.
Not sure about a sign. I do think that Crawford took over the second part of the fight. People can complain about the premature stoppage, but in my eyes, Porter was only going to get beat worse. As tough and strong minded is, Crawford is a tough, stubborn guy as well. Momentum was definitely on Crawfords side.
did you hear crawfords corner tell him he was down in the last round. You see how suprised he was? The fight wasnt close. Alot of crawford haters and people that got sucked in by the announcers.
I did not hear. I was at the fight. Rounds were very competitive. Different prespective watching live. I thought Crawford was landing the better shots, took Porter out of his game plan more and was slowly breaking SP down.
how loud were those bodyshots in the arena? Rounds were competitive but you gotta score to win rounds. crawford was in control.
Agreed! Yeah some of those shots carried through the crowd. Crawford did good. Can't believe people critisize him.
tbh, I wonder if people here is blind. What crawford did yesterday was unbelievable. Impossible punches from impossible angles, creative traps nonstop trying to figure out porter for 8 rounds, in round 5 or 6 you can clearly see him trying to syncronize his rythm with porter's looking for the perfect timing until he finds it, his movement reactions to porter's movements were fast as lightning and always right, not a single mistake in the whole fight, the power he put in punches with no distance at all was freaking amazing.... crawford's boxing yesterday was a ****ing enciclopedia about boxing. This guy is unique. His talent is off the charts, as well as his boxing IQ, and honestly I cannot understand how people in this forum cannot see something THAT obvious. Not a single fighter in this world can do what crawford did yesterday, maybe, and only maybe, lomachenko and ussyk. But no one else. And imho crawford dismantles spence even faster than he dismantled porter.
crawford put a good amount of punishment on porter. You dont send porter to the canvas twice in the same round because of sheer luck, no, it's not like that. the problem is that because of porter's style those devastating shots to the body and those hard uppers were not easy to see, because they were extremelly short, no distance. But still you could hear them so clearly it was ridiculous. The same with the right check hook, ugly punch from a weird angle, but this ugly punch put a very good amount of acumulative punishment on porter. Crawford succesful punches were not flashy, or eye catching, they were hard to see, but oh boy they were there.
