Simple question: Was the Fury of Fury-Wilder II the best version of Fury we will ever see? He looked very sharp, ultra confident, super fit in that fight. Everything seemed to be on point and he was truly in a WAR mindset. The Fury of the third fight would get beat up by the Fury of the second fight. At 33 after years of abusing food and drugs, after millions upon millions of dollars tucked away, is Fury soon to be washed up? I think the undisputed crown gives him some motivation, but he clearly can't say no to a good time. Just saw an interview from this week where he was clearly coked up. I still think declined Fury beats pretty much everyone, but it's highly possible he's peaked.
I can't name a HW I'm sure would beat that version of Fury. Not that it's impossible, just impossible to be sure.
Its obviously the peak of what we have seen so far. Fury needs to be seriously emotionally invested in a fight to bring out the best in him. Not sure there are any challenges left that would bring that level of emotional investment back for him If AJ was still unbeaten that I think we would have seen the same type of Fury show up for an AJ fight but now he's been beaten the interest isnt the same for Fury. Similar story for Usyk. While Usyk is very, very good, there is no history between the two of them, no needle to bring that emotional investment and Usyk doesn't have a great record at HW yet (though he will have!), its not like he has a certified ATG to get him motivated
The truth of the matter is simply: I don't know. Maybe. Only future fights (or lack thereof) will tell the whole story of Tyson Fury.
I think so having followed him from the start of his career. he was super focussed and more importantly with the help of Cronk had the perfect gameplan. I'm not sure he has the same drive for Usyk who I believe poses a bigger threat than Wilder.
Yes, that was his Tyson-Berbick, Ali-Williams, Louis-Schmeling II. But all of those guys went on to have other great fights, and it doesn't mean Fury can't. He is probably physically declining, now, but outside of Usyk, the other guys at the top fo the division are declining themselves, or crap in the first place. So if he wants it, he has some years left.
