This would be a real tough fight for one or the other to win in a 15 round bout. I would bet on the winner in my opinion.

Since I pick Archie to beat Zale ,and I think ,prime for prime Zale beats Cerdan,I pick the Mongoose again.

Tony Zale couldn't hit Cerdan in the ass, you must not have seen the fight. Tony was a good friend of mine and little chance of beating Cerdan. I tend to agree with you in his prime he would have a better chance of winning.

Cerdan would ruin Archie Moore, via TKO. Tony was great champion.

I take it that last statement was a joke? Around here you never know...

One a light-heavy, the other a middleweight... I get the idea this is a joke? Or maybe not? Around here you never know when someone is joking.

Zale is never beating Cerdan, nor LaMotta on even terms, but Moore would be too big & strong...

unless weight was too much too soon to cut. Cerdan would fight him well & sure enough, I just can't see it though with Moore.

Archie Moore was the number one middle weight contender in1942 ,when Zale was champion.

Zale beats Cerdan but loses to Jake imo.I'm presuming we are talking about the middle weight version of Moore?

Zale has been dead for 24 years.

Maybe so, but that's not what people think of when they use him in fantasy matchups. He was known for his work at LT. Heavy not middle.

Then clarification from the OP is needed. If Moore is at175 then its no contest imo.

Ron Davis might well be in his 70s or older, what is so unlikely about that... even if he is younger, it doesn't mean he didn't know Zale well, loads of people grew up in neighbourhoods equally lived in by notable people. quite normal, famous people have neighbours, friends, family, relatives and friends of family.

why would you even think to question that???
