well yea that is true but im saying staying awile from that sig punch cause of the fear of it dropping the person or getting hurt bad from it

that does prove it if we are looking at the power of that sig punch it proves that punch is known to be dangerous

when I see a earn match I dont see that fear or damaged cause from that sig punch in a quick way

I have seen that fear multiple times from a razor match to the young one he was dangerous he is my fav slugger of all time which means alot sense im not a big fan of that style

Not all arguments are angry. I don't think we are having an angry argument. We are just politely disagreeing.

By "argument," I just meant that you and I are disagreeing and presenting reasons why we think what we do.

So when I said we're having an argument, I didn't mean that we were angry at each other or insulting each other.

But yes. It's also a debate.

What I'm saying is: How can you tell they're "afraid" of the signature punch?

They would stay away from the signature punch whether they're "afraid" or not. That's just good boxing.

I bet people stayed away from Frazier's signature hook. That doesn't mean they were all "afraid" of the hook. It also doesn't make Frazier a gigantic puncher just because people stay away from his hook.

Do you have a particular fight and round of a Razor Ruddock match in mind?

I'm confused, then. Gerry was an 80s fighter, but you mentioned him in your list of hard 70s punchers.

Also, some of the 80s punchers I mentioned fought the guys Shavers hit.

    Why aren't they relevant?

Do you have any particular fights in mind where Tua showed he could knock people out by grazing them? Or where it was obvious on film that his signature punch scared his opponent?

I think he already believes Tyson's power is overrated, so this might not produce the desired result.

Tyson is basically already collateral damage from the fact that the quotes said Shavers hit harder.

If he concedes that Tyson is in the same league as Lennox/Wlad/Wilder/Tua, the chronological objection to using pro-Shavers quotes fails.

that does mean they were scared of that sig punch when a person is hurt from it how can you deny that why wouldnt a person be scared of a certain punch knowing its dangerous

not any fight I do know highlights that can show razor in action

that is right on staying away from punches in general but sig punches people usually throw those the best you know this

I believe when we look at mike its different his power wasnt that it was his catching people off guard and from angles which earn never showed that talent which those type of punches can hurt sensitive spots way easier you know this

earn did hit harder if we are just talking in general compared to mike but off counters and suddenness like I said Mike did it's not close I dont think anybody is close as far as with counters and speed with great angles that's never been done sense mike

alot of people will say Louis which he was great in his time but his angles wasnt that fancy or was he a sudden type of puncher and people he fought stood there in front of him mike had to fight people who moved

In that case, I don't understand how any of this is all that relevant to punching power.

You've just agreed that signature punches don't have to be hugely powerful for people to want to avoid them. (Like people wanted to avoid Frazier's left hook, even though it wasn't as hard as Lennox's overhand right.)

You've also just agreed that your main evidence for somebody being "scared" of a punch is actually getting hurt by it.

So I don't see anything unique about somebody avoiding or being scared of a signature punch. There's nothing unique about fear / avoidance that proves somebody's power.

What proves power best is actually getting hurt by a punch. The rest is nice to know, but not essential.

    Finally an admission.
That is what everyone has been saying all long: since by "in general" you clearly mean actually hitting harder than Tyson-& possibly anyone.
That Tyson was more effective & got more bang for his lesser pure force (power), due to speed angles combinations & accuracy---> Everyone acknowledges that.

    Ok. That's fine.

Which highlight are you referring to that shows somebody who's so afraid of Razor's signature punch that it proves Razor's power?

Could you post the link and time you're using?

your not understanding the power of the punch is not only the thing that matters the angle of it can effect the power of it you know this people like to throw from a certain angle

ali had no way to avoid joe hook all night it was a great hook

joe had no way to avoid the uppercut with George the angle matters alot

it proves it when you see the reaction from that punch or it almost landing

look at joe when he is hit by uppercut by George he feared it he knew it did the most damage from the other punches he tried to move away and kept getting caught that is fear from it

Not sure I understand.. What do you mean by "almost landing"?

Are you saying that you're looking for signs of fear in the split second before a punch impacts? And this split second reaction proves how hard Tua or some other puncher hits?

yea when the punch misses cause the person knows that's the best punch they throw they show fear or cautiousness of it that is fact its happened lots of times
