Eggington would be stupid to take that fight, he would get splattered. He's on a decent run at the moment and hopefully will be a little wiser with his career choices.
The ring would be covered in yolk. Egg is a really good watch when evenly matched but like the Smith fight, a fight with CEJ would be painful to watch.
They aren’t finding a competitive opponent this far out. Clearly they will find someone to avoid the refund. Very frustrating. Glad I didn’t book now as was looking to
With the fight being in Wales, Williams was the ticket seller. No Williams and this flops bad I feel even with a replacement.
If he was offered big money I'm sure he would consider it. Wouldn't want to see him fighting Eubank though, as you said he's on a good run and can probably navigate to some sort of shot with a decent payday soon enough.
Getting to the stage where Joe Calzaghe may be approached to come out of retirement at 4 weeks notice to do the Eubanks double.
Horrible feeling you're both right. Problem is, tickets are already on sale. Just had a quick look at Ticketmaster. Unless I've done something very wrong, it's showing only resale tickets left. If Williams does pull out (not confirmed yet) and Boxxer put Eubank v someone else (non-Welsh) as headliner to avoid refunds, then it's a complete shambles all around. I'm beginning to understand why fights in the US sell most of their tickets in the week before the event.
Jnr, the Young Lion, out to avenge his fathers defeat, take the 0 of a legend and start an exciting journey, Sergio Martinez next.
Lauren Price is Welsh, boxes at Middleweight, this could be her Rocky Balboa moment, Jnr is Apollo Creed, dresses flash, talks trash, from the big city, Lauren is the looking for her big break, this is written in the stars. I reckon Lauren would school him.
Yeah money talks but he would get smashed to pieces. Surely Jon Pegg advises him correctly and doesn't take that fight. He's already been in many wars and from a young age, now he's on a decent run... continue the momentum, not jump in weight in a fight that ends badly for him.
Agree with both of you. However if Sky think that it’ll save their show I don’t see why they wouldn’t consider throwing 6 figures at Sam, who I think would certainly take the chance for 100 bag.
They shouldn't get the egg. He'd get killed in there. I wouldn't mind the young warhorse going in with a decent 168 pounder. Even a euro level guy would be quite durable.
This won't happen but Zak Chelli will be calling for the fight. He's Welsh and has sparred Eubank in the past. His dad is very outspoken too on social media.
That would be a decent fight actually. Not quit the caliber of Eubank Jr. vs Williams but if there was to be a replacement, then Zak would make a very good one. The fact that nothing has been confirmed yet one way or another is very poor all round though. Williams should be honest about his reasons behind pulling out and Sky should have issued some kind of brief statement giving an update this is unprofessional and looks very bad.
