Definitely. It's taking them too long. Seems like they just wanna milk as many holidays and parties as possible after long amateur careers . The thing is their ages. The Mccormacks are 26, Frazer Clarke 30, Cheavon Clarke 31 in a few weeks, Yafai 29 in a few weeks , Lauren Price 27. They don't really have time to be making their pro debuts this late
Let's face it, the three 'big' promoters with broadcast deals have some uncertainty right now. Queensberry / BT - what happens if DAZN take over? Matchroom / DAZN - will the platform succeed? Boxxer / Sky - will bring the most viewers, but can they actually promote quality events? Then there's Wasserman, Hennessy, and the enigma that is Probellum. My guess is that Probellum have made some eye-watering offers, but it could end up being a huge trade-off between money and relative obscurity. If I were in their shoes, I wouldn't have a clue which way to go.
That sums up the situation pretty well right now in British boxing. Sky Sports / Boxxer is incredibly strong with the biggest platform in the UK, but can they even figure out how to build a boxer with the right opponents at the right time ? There are many unanswered questions about Boxxer / Sky Sports and that is also why I will wait untill 2023 to make a final assessment.
Pat McCormacks the only one I think has serious world level chances and maybe Whitaker if he is fully committed.
Spot on with the analysis there . Ehday still popular . Sky still popular. Will be shocked if any of them signs for Frank. Wasserman and Hennessy less likely than Frank. Probelum, who the **** knows!!! Mtk ? Top rank like kut walker ?
Kurt Walker from Northern Ireland. Anyone know whether he'll be british like Frampton or irish like Conlan?
I Think Mcormacks both go Probellum, Frazer Clarke and Yafai to Matchroom, Cheavon Clarke to Wasserman or Frank, And Lauren Price and Karis Artingstall if they go pro will go Matchroom.
I’m sure Buncey said in boxing news last month that they’re all pretty much turning pro. I think mostly post olympics the amateurs spend 6-12 months hoovering up sponsorship deals and courting the promoters and I would assume choosing a trainer too. I’d imagine we’ll see all of them making announcements and fighting before next spring though. I’m fairly certain he at least said price and aringstal are going pro with Eddie.
I think this is pretty acurate. I think McGrail might sign a matchroom deal too. I heard Price and Artingsall is practically a done deal but Sky are also trying to tempt them. Ben Whitaker will go to Matchroom too. Elsewhere it seems Skye Nicholson is signing with Matchroom as they build the Aussie stable, David Nyika is also in talk talks. Also heard that they have had a discussion about signing Jalalov on a co promotional deal with Di Bella
sky thing makes sense, out of nowhere saw Price on Soccer AM other week, normally they only have people on Soccer AM that are in someway linked to them. Think Skye has signed with them but not announced - Dempsey Mckean let it slip in some media work he was doing for Kambosos Teo fight week.
Whittaker is a strange one. He was riding a wave after the olympics, appeared on a few things and publicly with Hearn etc. yet no announcement, no fight or anything months later. Did the Olympians just all want a break until the New Year or something ?
