Trying without much success surfinghb....the fact is that to these young pups, the 70's are as bleak, mysterious and inscrutable as Max Schmeling & his era used to be.
You’re being over dramatic just because someone is critical of a fighter within reason it isn’t always due to a lack of knowledge all fighters are prone to criticism Monzon is one of my favourites and to my knowledge I’ve seen every fight of his on film but I acknowledge his flaws and the missing pieces people are talking about.
Well , you can see right off the bat from the moron thread starter who put Monzon in a 12 round fight? Kalambay went 15 as well ... so right there ,, that disqualifies him on commenting on Monzon ,, lol
We don't really know whether Monzon didn't fight a " This content is protected " The considerable majority of Monzon's career is not available to watch on film. Even if it were a definitive point, it borders on argumentum ad ignorantiam. In essence, just because Monzon may not (but may) have competed against someone like Kalambay, does not necessarily mean Kalambay would score a success where others failed. About as many people (and probably more), who have posted comment on this thread, have either indicated it could be a competitive bout (even if only for a while) or a win for Kalambay, compared with those, who think it would be a Monzon walkover. So, it is difficult to identify from where you are drawing your conclusions. The bigger problem, which has been seen time and time again on this forum, is that Monzon detractors tend towards denigrating Monzon's opposition, as the means to make a case for [enter fantasy middleweight match-up opponent here]. It is rare (although it does occasionally happen) that we see a case made for a Monzon fantasy match-up opponent, which is based on that opponent's skills and style.
Good grief. You find it difficult to read less than 200 words? Are you even remotely educated? Hmmn. I think your discontent is more likely to do with me having taken a dump on your trolling post.
He didn't fight anyone like Sumbu. we would know if he did because it wouldn't be an unknown he fought in an un-filmed fight he'd be a ranked guy we'd be brining up in this very argument. Again, he didn't fight anyone like Sumbu and we do know it because the guy wouldn't be an unknown. I don't think Sumbu will win, but he's got a decent chance and the reverse can be applied to Monzon we don't know if he could beat someone like Sumbu. I am drawing my conclusions based on what I see In GENERAL not just here in this thread, people cling to status more often then not. Your last part (Highlighted) is totally irrelevant to me.
You weren't meant to be who I was sending that to. I also decided against it. No, hardly at all I am honestly almost entirely self educated.
I did say almost! But seriously, I post on breaks, between sets and whenever I am waiting around or having a mind block or on a long walk. I don't see why you are being a little b1tch about it, I just like posting.
