Really like Arthur. Listened to his podcast with James English and he came across really well.

Surprised he's not been promoted more as there's room in Manchester for a new headliner now Crolla has retired.

Noticed this being pushed a lot during bt sport football games. Far more visible than any matchroom fight...

There was an opportunity with Lyndon and Zelfa who are pretty much inseparable to have them co-headlining big shows in Manchester. Both men are hugely popular in the less affluent areas of Manchester, mainly Moss side etc where they are seen as massive role models to the kids who are brought up in a seriously rough area.

Heard a rumour Lyndon is fighting his contract out with Frank. He’s then considering the move over to Matchroom

When your contract is up, any fighter should always consider all options available to them.

In this case, I’m not really sure how joining Matchroom is of any benefit, considering if he beats Yarde, he is almost certain to get the WBO shot with Warren next year.

Either way, I hope he secures his future.

The benefit of Matchroom in this case is obvious IMO. IF he wins he will still be WBO mandatory so that route is always available. Then he’s got alternate options in Buatsi, Bivol, Callum Smith, Ramirez (golden boy), Richards fights with Hearn a lot as opposed to Frank who really only has Johnson at this weight and I’d expect him to lose his next fight and retire (although not a given).

Yep, noticed this myself whilst watching the Champions League. Getting decent exposure. The last fight was a bit **** if we’re honest but hoping this one catches fire and the casuals enjoy it. Yarde aesthetically good and got some power, Lyndon has got a great story and everyone loves an underdog too.

We will have to see where the cards fall, but Eddie doesn’t usually do many in-house fights.
So whilst they are options with MR- are Buatsi/Smith etc really realistic..

We know Franks relationship with the WBO and how he can cut through the usual red tape- it seems crazy to me not to utilise him to get the shot/belt, and then fcuk off afterwards at the first opportunity if that’s the best option.

I dont think its a given hes going to Matchroom. But he is not happy how hes been treated by Frank over the last 12/18 months and unless Frank pays him big money or commits to promoting him properly hes leaving. He has had a chat with Hearn as they have Buatsi, Bivol, Smith, Richards available to him.

If hes the WBO mandatory he will be better off with Hearn who would be happy to go to pursebids for the fight and have a bigger budget to work with and try to get the fight to the UK. once hes mandatory warren becomes redundant. It also gives Hearn a chance to bring the WBO into Matchroom if he beats Joe Smith/Johnson and in turn offers him more fights to make and another option to entice Canelo with in 12/18 months given he will likely move to 175

Matchroom in the past had Buatsi, Richards, Burton, Johnson- all at the same weight, all needing fights and none of them on remotely big money.

Yet Eddie failed to make a single in house Matchroom fight in terms of those four facing each other, in what was an exciting division. No excuses there.

All of that sounds great, but as Donald just posted- Eddie failed to make a number of obvious in-house fights at the weight. Meanwhile, Frank does usually like making his stable fight it out - again we will have to see how the cards fall though.

If Johnson can somehow bring the belt home (I’m assuming there is a rematch clause with Smith but putting that to 1 side) that will open up a very big fight for the Arthur - Yarde winner.

I also don’t buy that Arthur hasn’t been promoted well. BT/Warren have put a lot of marketing into him, he has headlined in the summer (above Yarde who pulled out in the end) and the first fight was one of the highest rated shows last year.

There has been a fairly big marketing campaign for the rematch with BT pushing it during the football, there’s also posters all through underground etc. The tickets are also basically sold out already - any others will go on the door as West Ham are playing at home earlier. It’s a big event.

Arthur has also not been treated unfairly at all - he is just being made to for fill his rematch obligations he signed in order to get the first fight. I suspect Pat quietly understands and isn’t really that upset- he’s just trying to create a siege mentality going into the rematch.

Having said all that, if Matchroom or even Boxxer offer a better package then he would be crazy not to grab it with both hands. He’s a nice kid with an interesting backstory.

I could be wrong but I think he signed a new deal prior to the first Yarde fight.

Their first clash was completely boring, hardly any punches landed.
