If Spence and Crawford aren't ATG, how can you say Cotto is?

Cotto is one of those guys who fought the best during his era, same as porter ect. Malignaggi, quintana, margarito 2x, mayweather, canelo, mosley ect. He is a legend and is an ATG, Definitaly one for puerto rican fighters. Top 3 puerto rican fighter of all time.

You're not the only one that shorts Cotto vs Bud and Errol. Not sure you're wrong, but I would point out that he managed to go all 12 with both Floyd and Canelo and fought both men close. Who have Bud/Spence fought in THAT league? Also, how would Bud and Errol react to what MC lands? Which and how many of their opponents is skilled or heavy handed like Miguel Cotto?

Whoever considers Kneeguel an ATG must have very low standards.

I didn’t say they necessarily would beat him I’m saying how I see the fight playing out. If Crawford can’t withstand the pressure Cotto put on Floyd in the middle rounds then it’s over for him. If Spence can’t handle the punishment Margarito withstood early in the fight then he loses TKO6.

Floyd withstood it and showed the differences in levels between an ATG and a HOF. Margarito showed historical toughness by taking Cotto’s best in the early rounds.

An ATG Is a fighter than can fight In ANY ERA. There are no fighters currently fighting which are ATGs. Pac was the last.

Cotto has a great resume but he's not an ATG and i haven't heard that people ever considered him one before.

Canelo will certainly go down as an ATG.

The below names would also be competitive in any era. Not saying they should be labelled or have ATG status, but they could most certainly hold there own with anyone from yester-year.

    Fury
    Usyk
    Crawford
    GGG

Cotto fought in a stacked era and fought everyone with two of the generations best in Pacman and Floyd.
As others have mentioned Cotto is HOF but not ATG.
Crawford and Spence need to fight each other for either to qualify for that accolade.
Cotto and Crawford would be a cracking fight I would edge with Bud but there's not a lot in it.

He definitely would be competitive with all of those names mentioned. No two ways about it.

    Based on what current wins?

He lost to GGG once, drew the 2nd one. (Yes It was written as one draw one win)
Lost to Mayweather (Was Still Young yes) And a debatable win against Lara.

First fight against GGG I thought he lost..... in the rematch the correct man won and he had his hand raised. Both close fights.

Mayweather and to be honest his whole tenure at 154 he was a young pup and nowhere near the fighter we see today. Even Stevie Wonder can see that.

He's an elite fighter with one of the best active resume's in boxing today... fighting across and winning titles across numerous different weight divisions. It's an absolute given that by the time he finishes his career he'll be considered an ATG.
