If Spence and Crawford aren't ATG, how can you say Cotto is?

    This right here.
I’m certain that many fans can’t appreciate just what it took to fight in the pre80’s eras of same day weigh-ins and 15 round fights. A guy like Clenelo, who by modern standards is awesome, would not have had the luxury (or “science”) of weighing in 30 hours before a fight and then gaining 20lbs. And then having to go 15 rounds.

In their defense there is no fighters around in their weight division that is an atg who they can beat besides themselves, although I do think both Spence and Crawford would beat Cotto and the Mosley that Cotto beat. Cotto and Mosley were two of my favorite fighters when they were fighting, but I'm a realist in terms of their respective abilities.

Canelo would have simply fought as a stocky LHW.

Not saying he's an ATG but, among others, Melon Head Miguel fought Manny, Floyd, Clenelo, Mosley, Sergio, Zab, Margarito, Trout, Mayorga. He beat Shane and Zab and gave Floyd and Clenelo really tough fights. He fought killers, fighters Floyd wanted no part of or versions of them he never would've gone anywhere near and who would've paddled the asses of all the top 147 pounders of today.

You honestly think zab and Mosley would dominate in this era?

I dont know about that, guys like Beterbiev, Spence, etc i think they could fight in any era but they aren't all time greats nor would they be THE top fighter, but they'd be in the top 10 in any era

Cotto is better than Porter I know that much and better than everyone Crawford has beat. I was ringside when I saw Cotto give Floyd arguably his toughest ever fight. I remember afterwards Floyd saying how tough a mother****er Cotto was. That’s enough for me.

I have to make a very good effort to be able to imagine cotto (pre-margarito) losing to spence, tbh.

Crawford is another level. But I wouldnt put all my money on spence in a cotto vs spence fight. Not at all.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I see cotto kicking spence's ass.

Crawford is not really that beyond Spence.

On what evidence are Crawford and Spence even better than Mosley!?

I think Manny and Floyd would and I'd pick Mosley to beat both Spence and Crawford and Zab is a live dog against both. I'd lean toward Crawford in that one.

I like Spence but what has either of them done to put them over Cotto? Crawford resume is compete trash and Spence resume isn’t long enough
