Not only but that is his base and I don't see how anyone can question that? Ireland is a relatively small country so Conor has always had to broaden his appeal to all groups. I'll add Canelo is finally starting to speak in English so that will help but if he started speaking English years earlier like how Manny did, he'd probably have more non mexican fans.
i believe canelo fights are broadcast free in mexico. so if you want a clearer view of reality, then add how many mexicans would have bought the ppv were it not free. 300k feels like a conservative estimate, so that puts him well above 1 million for this fight with an unknown.
Canelo is a crossover star just like, DLH, FLoyd, Pac, Tyson, Conor, etc. His "Mexican base" can only carry him so far.
Clenelo and Plant have the personality and charisma of a pair of mannequins. They're both about as interesting as a tortoise in a cardboard box. Usman and Colby ''Chaos'' Covington put on a classic in their first fight and the later, love him or hate him, knows how to sell himself and sell a fight, and the rematch was fire too. And even Marvelous Marvin (RIP) doffed his war cap for the war for the ages Gaethje and Chandler put on. That poop was biblical!
True but his PPV sales in the UK aren`t that impressive because the UFC is not that well known in UK and some other parts of Europe.
The OP vid is full of ****. Usman is the P4P best fighter on earth, that fight was huge, and to outsell it is an accomplishment for Canelo. Not sure wtf he’s talking about.
Casuals don't understand or appreciate the purity of boxing. It's something anybody can pick up but to reach the highest levels is so difficult. UFC used to be closer to a proper street fight but with the rules now it's drawing power is based on smoke and mirrors vs the sweet science.
I bet if Conor was English instead of Irish that would be a different story. The UFC has been looking for a breakthrough English star. Michael Bisping became champ very late in his career, too late to be massive. Darren Till hasn't panned out to well but there's this up and coming scouser who is supposed to be the next big thing: This content is protected This content is protected
They only show MMA fights on BT sport, they aren`t all of a sudden going to get big ratings in England just because Till is English, he has to get in the sports pages and MMA really does in England, he has to be invited on talk shows, the only MMA fighter to be offered a slot on a British talk show is Conor on Johnathon Ross but that interview was cancelled for some reason, Ross is a huge show in the UK, Ray Leonard, Fury and AJ have been on the show.
