I'm tired of Canelo being criticized for the opponents he picks while at the same time no one gives the same smoke to the fighters that Canelo allegedly "ducked." Canelo is suffering from the same thing that Mayweather did. They both continue to fight many world champions but the haters always have another boogeyman that they ducked. When they beat the boogeyman, it's a new boogeyman. I clearly remember posters here saying that Canelo was ducking Plant then when he beat him, Plant was a bum.

Why aren't yall giving the same energy to the other 160-175 fighters. They don't have to sit and wait for a Canelo payday. They fight each other and build up their own brand. Instead they want to complain about Canelo not giving them an opportunity.

Going up 2 weight classes to fight Mabuku is a major step up. Let me ask you this: If any of the 160-175 fighters went up to Cruiser and beat a champ there, where would it rank on their resume? It would be the best win for all of those fighters.

Andrade: By far the best win of his career. His resume is pathetic.

    Charlo: His best win

    Benavidez: His best win

    Beterbiev: His best win

    Bivol: His best win

The crazy thing is that Mabaku won't even be in the top 5 of Canelo's best wins. All of those guys have beaten bums. They need to face off vs each other first before they got a chance at Canelo.

Ah, the old "double-standards" thread, as old as the internet, as useless as a pair of large, malleable tits on a male cow, also known as a bull.

Everyone and their dog knew that Plant would get knocked out except a few people who were being contrarian for no reason at all.

I agree with the sentiment of the post but anyone putting their hopes in Canelo' s opponent after Danny Jacobs has a thing or two to learn about boxing, the 168ers Canelo beat were hopelessly bad.

Bivol and Beterbiev need to fight each other and that's the only thing that makes sense because Charlo vs Andrade isn't gonna happen.

GTFOH. Literally NO ONE said Clenelo would duck Plant. In fact, we knew Clenelo would run to a bum ass guy like Plant.

Floyd set the blueprint for Canelo, with the way they avoided their best opponents when they were at their best, with their own rules, location, referees, officials, and even the drugtesting in their favor.
Not having to fear mandatories and/or pursebids, never having to fight the best opposition when on their peak, never having to fight bad style matchups in foreign countries.
And if they had to fight top opposition, they knew the judges would win the fight for them if it went south.

Both these guys are what's wrong with modern day boxing. Money and nationality are key. PEDs are allowed, but only them, not their opponents. No mandatories except when the opponent fits for them. Never in hostile territory, the deck always stacked in their favor.

It's really not hard to understand that Canelo and his team are ultimate cherrypickers. He's manufactured from top to bottom.

Yes everyone cherrypicks here and there but Canelo really takes the biscuit.

Old men and can crushing for 40 Pro fights. Weight bully for a period at 154, robbed Lara blind and close fight with pillow Trout. Cherrypick gone wrong in 36 yo Mayweather. Lost clearly twice 8-4 to 36 yo Golovkin. Drained Jacobs and barely scraped a win despite Jacobs essentially giving Canelo the first 6 without doing anything. Jumping to 168 and becoming undisputed is not impressive if you factor in the objective context around blown up160lber Shefat Isufi destroyer BJS, 2 month camp **** resume Smith and 5 IQ Plant. Kovalev, Yildrim were clear as day fixes.

There's nothing remarkable about Canelo, honestly. He's good at rolling with punches, he's a good counterpuncher, has good defense (but highly overrated). Its very hard to judge his attributes when every fight is a cherrypick or stacked heavily in his favour.

    Next.

I donno what to tell you bud, I've made threads asking the general population on this forum what fights he SHOULD be taking, and I never get an answer. I ask who they think has a better resume, or who their favorite fighters are and I never get answers. It truly feels like some people are just trolling.

I think the only guy who you can MAYBE say has a better resume than CA is Usyk.

    Haters gotta hate.

An opportunity to earn millions and fight a guy who is 36...there's not that much risk there, clear as day they thought he was ripe for the taking

Canelo's best win was vs a weight drained Callum Smith. True boxing fans understand this.
