I rewatched Teo vs Loma and was shocked at how one sided it was.

No actually, many scored rounds 2 and 6 to Loma... Because he landed the cleaner shots, whilst Lopez was hitting arms elbows shoulders and air

That's not a similar comparison as you can't find a case for AJ winning 6 rounds. Loma you can find a case for him winning 7 rounds and it is a very fair judgement to do so

Think you are watching a different fight.Loma threw next to nothing for the first 6 rounds

The only reason Loma won the 7th/8th/9/10/11 was because of Teo horrendous defense.

Maybe he is not used to fighting southpaws. He leaves his land down his waist. Timothy Bradley mentioned it during commentary " lack of discipline". That's exactly what it was. Lazy defense.

I know that he will get caught again if he does that dumb. SHOULDER SCROLL defense. Floyd does it but in spurts. He runs around the ring 80 percent of the time. T-lo is an offensive not a defensive fighter. By keeping hands up will do him a world of good.

Lomas biggest problems in the fight was his lack of size and his lack of conviction.

Lopez was the bigger stronger man. And Loma was intimidated by it.

He lacked the conviction and self belief in the ring. Loma has the skill to give the bigger man problems, but he was too worried about getting knocked out. He lacked self belief against Lopez.

It was a much closer fight than what the media tried to communicate to the ignorant casuals. A more detailed analysis will confirm that Teo didn't win all 6 of the first rounds, and that all dominant rounds were Loma's, including the championship rounds.

The 118 scorecard shows the fix was in and that Arum, for some reason, wanted to pass on the belts. I'd say it was because Teo is a younger fighter whose fame he can leverage for a long period, and that he knew Loma would come back and win more titles.

BTW, Loma had a significant shoulder injury, which was his excuse for taking off the first 6 rounds.

Nice try. I thought Loma was going to win. I said as much on this very site. According to compubox, Teo outlanded Loma in rounds 2 and 6 and 7 other rounds. Loma got on the big stage and s h I t the bed. Teo outwoked Loma, wasn't even close. He gave the appearance he was doing more, which he did, and it paid off. AND STILL UNDEFEATED!!!!!!!

It actually was. I don't like Lopez but i like Loma and i have to agree. Lopez won clearly. I had it 8-4 for Lopez. And i think 9-3 is more reasonable than 7-5. Teo was way too strong and big for small Loma. Loma doesn't belong in the ring with a Welterweight. Lopez is some sort of a weight bully. He kills himself on the scales to make 135.

Ya was a strange performance and a subdued performance… Everyone can have a bad night though… But Loma that night was missing something… Maybe it was Lopez' physicality and strength that put him off because the guys basically a shrunk down welterweight.. and the shoulder thing was obviously a factor too.. the game plan was stupid also.. he probably shouldn't have took the fight in retrospect but it is what it is he lost that night.. still my favourite fighter though & he had had a long layoff.. I certainly wouldn't write him off in a rematch but I don't think there will be one because Lopez is bursting at the seams

That's how I remember this also....he lost first half of the fight and then picked up 2-3 rounds in second half....not enough to win

there were other factors as well. lopez proved faster than what loma was prepared for. loma kept eating jabs, compared to previous opponents. he was also getting hit at the end of his under and around angle approaches. teo would pivot with him and drop right hands before loma could fire. loma could not handle that much power coming at him that fast. even if it doesnt touch you clean, it still readjusts your center of gravity, so you have to restart. but yes, his size played a big role. his wide stance creates a lot of space to cover in order to get in trading distance. thats extra time to react and counter.

Teo is no dummy, despite sounding like one whenever he speaks. He’s avoiding the rematch for a reason. He was gifted a victory in the Nakatini fight. Loma crushed Nakatani and was a different fighter after shoulder surgery. Teo can run his mouth and make excuses but he’s ducking Loma because he knows he will lose.

Teo will beat his outmatched opponent tonight. Might drop a round or two because of rust but Kambosus has no chance. He’s a cherry picked opponent who has no power. Taylor made for Teo to KO. Loma is the best fight for Teo in terms of $$$ but it ain’t happening.

Lopez won 7 rounds tops, could have just as easy been a draw or a 115-113 Loma win. Hardly a domination. There's a reason Lopez doesn't want the rematch.
