He said legends, he didn't say "most guys".

Duran, Leonard, Hearns, De La Hoya, Mosley, Trinidad, Canelo, Jones Jr., Mayweather, Pacquiao all moved to add to their legacies.

There not all the same though are they? I rate the old timers higher because there were only two belts for a long time being udisputed is more important than picking up one of potentialy 5-8 belts platinum/silver/regular bollocks that you have today. Also by your metric carlos monzon and marvin hagler because they chose to stay in 1 division arren't as good which is incorrect on many levels. Winning trinkets sounds good to casuals.

So you don't think moving up in weight in itself is seeking a Challenge? lmao!

Of course it is dumbass. Weight classes exist for a reason.

Unless you're acclimated to a division, fighting at a higher division is ALWAYS a challenge. Even Pacquiao moving up to fight David Diaz and Maragrito were challenges.

If you fight and beat the consensus champion, or unify the division you are a champion. If you fight and beat a proven titlist you are a champion. There;s no way around that.

It's seeking a challenge....if you are moving up TO SEEK A CHALLENGE. It's not automatically some new and difficult challenge because one moves 5-10 pounds. Canelo was weighing in over 175 fighting while at 154.... acclimate??? GTFO here poser.

You call Paq's fights w/ Diaz and margarito cherry picks ASSOL....

You are a champion not the champion until you unify or take the consensus no1. There is a big difference further diluted by 5 main orgs couple of which have additional belts in the same weight catagory.

Acclimating doesn't mean making weight. Acclimating to a division is knowing you can take the punch from a bigger man that you're used to facing, knowing that you can handle the pressure a bigger man than you're used to fighting will give you, knowing that you're punches and style will be effective etc...

ODLH despite weighing over the MW limit in many fights was not acclimated to MW when he fought Sturm. Despite having the skill to stay competitive we all saw he wasn't ready for the top guys at MW.

Come on dude, you've watched boxing long enough to know what acclimating is. Why do you think MOST fighters including talented guys like Usyk fight lower tier fighters first to "TEST the WATERS".

    Don't be simple

I'm not arguing that. I actually agree.

I'm happy that we clarified that Isal. I'm not saying moving up is not a great achievement I'm just saying that it can be tactically done now when the older generations had less choice so Duran (top dog at lightweight) taking on SRL (top dog at welterweight) is a greater achievement than anything in the last few decades as nearly all occasions the weakest belt holder has been picked. I also think staying in a competitive division like welterweight or middleweight and beating all contenders over a long period is equally impressive and difficult to achieve.

Canelo was NEVER a small JrMW or MW. You claimed to not like Mikey because of 'title hopping'....yet here we are. And please, you were one who insisted 3G move to 168 to face Ward right off the back...because of a little trash talk by his team. You and the flo mos are the worst groupies ever....

    Agreed on all points.

Fighting the top dog in each division you move up and winning some are things of top legends like Duran and Leonard. Moving up and winning a world title against a titlist are things of great fighters like Pacquiao and Canelo. Staying in a competitive division and clearing it out are things of legends like Hagler and Monzon.

Huh? I don't like Mikey Garcia because he purposely missed many opportunities to be great. Garcia has no business at 147 other than selling his legacy short for peyydeyy.
