Kambosos can’t be WBC champ

    What an amazing performance by George last night.

    one question which is the elephant in the room and hopefully the WBCs stupidity will finally stop. But when they announced the franchise championship they said you cannot win that belt,


    Surely this means that Kambosos is not the WBC champion and will hold no belt there. Haney is a WBC champion rightfully or not.

    surely the fight to now make is Kambosos vs Haney for the true undisputed and we can bin the franchise belt off.

    To expect the stupidity of the WBC to stop is to expect far too much. :lol:

    It makes no difference. From what the WBC told us the franchise is designated and not won. Currently Kambosos is not a WBC champ. I wouldn’t be paying my sanction fees to them

    Yeah, they are making a mockery of themselves. The WBC representative even got the WBC World Champion cap and t-shirt on Kambosos immediately after the victory too.

    Meanwhile, on the WBC website, Devin Haney is listed as their champion, with both Teofimo and Joseph Diaz listed in smaller type well below the huge pic of Devin.

    I hope the next fight is for undisputed to stop this nonsense.

    So what happens if say Kambosos steps up to 140. Carried the franchise with him. Loses it to a 140lb fighter.
    Does the WBC have no championship belt in 135. Or do we then recognize Haney as the true champion.

    Personally I think franchise is nonsense, if it isn't attached to a weight class. So I don't know why anyone wants to recognize it beyond a marketing gimic

    Haney was mandatory. Loma dropped the title instead of fighting him. Haney made defences of that belt before Lopez fought Loma.

    He fought in a unification fight which is clearly more meaningful than a fight against Haney.

    I don't know why anyone wants to recognise Haney as a legitimate champion. Even the WBC themselves are calling Kambosos undisputed.

    Kombosos and his dad were quite clear after the fight calling Haney the WBC champion.

    It's ridiculous when some try and claim Haney isn't the legitimate champion. Haney had no say in how the belt ended up with him. He was more willing than to fight Loma and it was Loma who dropped the belt instead of fighting Haney.

    So if Kambodos dropped this franchise title or jumped up in weight who then becomes WBC champion?

    The franchise title is BS and nobody should entertain such nonsense. The champion is Haney and anyone wanting to be undisputed champion needs to beat him.
