watching it for first time now.
    1st rd.
teo the agressor, showing little respect for kambosos who is looking to counter. teo winning rd clearly when a perfectly timed and quick overhand right takes his legs at the end of the rd. i have the rd even, with the knock down.
(in between rds, this was the advice given to teo immediately after having been dropped. "hes done, watch yourself. thats why i said, time, take your time.... bro, the right hand is working, finish him already, wtf is going on? allright, just relax...that was off balance, that wasnt a hard shot, you were off balance. it didnt even hurt you. now eat this mother ****er now.")
    rd 2
close rd. both connected some hard eye catching shots. teo connected more by virtue of throwing more. 2nd rd.to teo.
    rd 3
lopez lands the harder, cleaner shots, including a well timed uppercut that froze kambosos. 3rd to teo.
    rd 4
clear kambosos rd. teos activity has dropped dramatically. he is no longer probing and flicking the jab. content to follow kambosos around allowing him to pick his spots. first signs of possible fatigue.
(teos corner saying "beautifull, you won that rd. too")
    rd 5
bit of a repeat of previous rd, with teo only slightly increasing activity. george looking more comfortable letting his hands go. rd 5 kambosos on activity.
    rd 6
trend continues. kambosos has caught on to teos rhythm and is timing flurries after teos single shot attempts. teo visibly breathing hard, while working less.
    rd 7
very even rd. teo looking tentative, isnt committing like before, becoming weary of the responses. teo fighting completely flatfooted, choosing to lean instead of using his legs. rd 7 to kambosos on generalship.
    rd 8
teofimo still breathing through his mouth, showing little spark in his movement, only working in short spurts. feet look like lead. close rd but kambosos connects the better shot. rd 8 to kambosos.
    rd 9
kambosos waiting to much, allows teo to get off some hurtful shots. rd 9 lopez.
    rd 10
10-8 rd for lopez. had kambosos seriously hurt and landed some big shots.
    rd 11
lopez looks spent. defense got very lazy, barely moving. kambosos wins rd on activity and accuracy.
    rd 12
kambosos takes the 12th on desire.

    my final score.
    114-kambosos
    112-lopez

teos preparation and corner work was dismal. they brought him in all emotionally revved up burning energy and gave him no plan to speak of. needs better coaching, his iq is not high enough to figure things out on his own. even simple things.

I agree, Lopez seems like a fighter whose game is dependant on following a plan made in the gym rather than making adjustments on the fly in case things aren't going the right way.

But that's why you train in the gym for the particular opponent you are facing. That's why you are suppose to watch tape. That type of on the fly thinking is what got many guys caught up and KO'd. In order to fight on the fly you first have to fight every style there is to fight or cherry pick one style you look good against.

yes. someone like crawford or canelo would have set kambosos up with feints and half steps back. catching him in between his 3 punch combos out of position. he let kambosos dictate the distance the fight was fought at the whole way. when kambosos leaned forward to throw one of his combinations, not once did he have to worry that teo would step back and catch him leaning in. teo left his legs in the dressing room.

Just so I understand, you scored the first round even despite the knockdown?

I had it 115-112 Kambosos and scored the first round 10-9 Kombosos. Teo was winning the round pretty decisively before the knockdown.

My scorecard is 113-113, 2 swing rounds for teo, but could easily have gone to kambosos. So there’s no way teo win that fight.

Performance wise i give teo a C+, i dont like the way he approached the fight, the gameplan, the mentality. He didnt show any respect to kambosos and that made him lose. He definitely has the talent and power, but with his father on his side i dont think he could fulfill his potential.

As for kambosos i give it an A. Was following his gameplan until the exchange of the last seconds in round 9 (maybe got a little too emotional that led to that exchange). I think that exchange hurt him a bit and thats what made him caught in round 10 kd. But showed heart on the next 2 rounds, win the fight, and win boxing fans heart.

Ah yes, the old "the champ is floored so let's score that an even round" chestnut.
