Even if that's true (and it isn't) Morrison's defense, stamina, and chin were lacking compared to many of Louis' opponents. Morrison was not particularly hard to hit. Louis was the better overall fighter, better combination puncher, body puncher, and finisher. Simply being a big puncher is not going to save Morrison in this matchup and he certainly doesn't have skill comparable to guys like Schmeling or Walcott.
You're expecting him to fight a mobile fight like he did against Foreman, rather than trying to bomb Louis out?
...So you agree with me that this wouldn't be a mobile fight. That's what I said a couple posts back.
I can see no very compelling reason for thinking that he would be either, and even if he was, you are predicting that he will do something that there is no precedent for.
There's a high chance Louis can take Tommy's best for as long as legends like Carl Williams and Joe Hipp did. There is no chance Morrison survives one combination from Louis, and there's no chance of Morrison avoiding it.
No they aren't. No they don't. He wasn't a danger and yeah he was slow afoot, but he did have excellent foundamentals and he used short compact punches - compare his punching on You-Tube with Wilder’s bolo punches!
Joe Louis was one of the greatest of all time. Tommy Morrison wasn't even a world class fighter in his own time. He was a hype job, and very few people at the time were buying the hype. It's baffling how he's become some sort of legend in the internet these days.
