Amir Khan and Kell Brook have finally confirmed their massive British battle in Manchester on February 19 | Boxing News | Sky Sports Enjoy.
I'm still so cynical about the possibility of this fight actually happening that I'll believe it when -- and only when -- both Khan and Brook are in the ring together and the bell rings to signify the start of round one.
I can already see the name for this card, "Khan vs Brook - Do you even care anymore?" Answer is no, whoever wins it's meaningless as both way, way past their primes.
They will both KO each other at the same time from the 1st punch as they hit each other simultaneously. At least 5 years too late to even be entertaining - Kell is obvs psycholigically damaged goods, it was clear in the Crawford fight, and Khan didn't exactly do any better against Bud either. Both looking for a final payday to fleece teh muggz
Really too bad in 2016 it would have been a big fight. Instead of being taken down by Canelo and Golovkin in losing fights, they would have done better to face each other.
This can be a big PPV event if Sky Sports promote it well. It's their big chance to show that they don't need Eddie Hearn. For Brook this is the "legacy" fight he has been dreaming of, as well as the pay day. For Khan, this is the LAST of the big pay days that he has exhausted. I always had the feeling that he would pick this fight after there was nowhere else to go to.
Sometimes you want to bake the cake. And bake it perfectly. But even so... You dont want to ever bake it quite this long.
All these pea-brained oinks saying "oh, I won't be watching this, wah wah etc etc" are talking absolute hogwash. You will be watching like everyone else will be. That's not conjecture, that's not speculation. That is Irrefutable scientific fact.
The PPV mugs, as Jurgen likes to call them, will be straight down the bookies for this one. Might be worth watching in a bar for some entertainment value. I definitely won't be paying for this one.
