The 90s top dogs are GODS compared to the bums from Louis's era. Even a joke like Galento was a contender back then.
Morrison was not even one of the 90s top dogs. The 90s was an era populated by big punchers, while Louis's era was populated by small technical boxers. There is no doubt which era boasted more defensive specialists.
By HIS logic, even a journeyman from the 90s would have reigned the 30s-40s. He once posted a video of Michael Bentt mopping the floor with Morrison and used that footage to bolster the claim that Morrison “ moved better “ than joe Louis.
Ezzard Charles You can argue that these fighters were more skilled than Walcott as well: Max Schmeling Jack Sharkey Bob Pastor John Henry Lewis Billy Conn Jimmy Bivins All of them were much, much more skilled than Morrison.
Would you argue that Morrison was better than them from a technical standpoint? For example if you shrank him down to the size of Billy Conn, would he give Conn a competitive fight?
Aside from size, what advantages would Morrison have? What is their on film to makes him a favorite over the top guys of Louis's era?
Ezzard Charles would punch holes in Tommy Morrison. It'd be embarrassing. Morrison wouldn't even beat Chris Byrd, let alone Ezzard Charles.
Morrison would get KTFOd multiple times if he had to face the schedule Louis did. Both Baer's stop him. Schmeling stops him, twice. Walcott stops him, twice. Charles stops him. Marciano annihilates him. Conn, Pastor, Farr and Nova are all favourites over. MICHAEL BENT beat this guy in less than a round. JOE HIPP broke his jaw and smashed his face to pieces. A shot to pieces Rudduck almost KTFOd him. He couldn't even beat Ross Purity. He gassed in literally three rounds against Mercer who wasn't throwing anything back. Morrison is never anything special in any era. Whether you have him fight in Ancient Greece or on Mars in 2996.
You left out the most important point. Morrison's work at world level, such as it was, all fell inside a five year window. What would have happened to him over ten years, or fifteen?
If there's one thing Louis's footwork is supposed to do well, it's creeping forward against another puncher to force an initial mistake and allow Louis to open up.
Power is the only thing that could bail him out when he's up against a crafty technician with good stamina. The fact he neglects his jab to set up combinations and often neglected his right hand means that his so called punchers chance would be even smaller. He could be a nasty finisher and a decent body puncher, but not much else to write home about. Very limited at the elite level outside of his power and size.
