It's pretty incredible that he sparred 250 rounds with Pacquiao. That's nearly 21 championship fights of experience with a legend. No wonder he was so confident going into the fight against Lopez. He's seen it all.
Cool video in retrospect. Saying guys over there are happy with a bowl of rice and sometimes some meat, maybe once a week (I might have misheard) . That's a humbling experience.
He has seen one type of champion fighter. No idea how he handles boxers who sit back and let him be the aggressor. Really needs to work on that defence too.
Selby & Bey were those type of fighters. Albeit not the highest level, he handled himself pretty well. He can definitely improve... but one thing he can't improve that much is his power. If he had power, he'd be a dominating force.
He needs Canelo and Reynoso. That way, his power can mysteriously increase and WBC can tell VADA and USADA to **** off.
“Congratulations to my friend, @georgekambosos on an epic win! You helped me in so many of my past fights, I hope our hundreds of rounds of sparring helped you in some way tonight. I’m proud of you. #LopezKambosos,” Pacquiao wrote on Twitter Sunday. “Thank you for everything @MannyPacquiao the rounds we shared together shaped me to become champion tonight! Thank you brother,” Kambosos replied.
He can improve his power. His physique can be improved and so can his technique. If he had elite lvl S&C that Lopez fight would’ve been a no brainer for me.
When he said they ran up the mountain and saw people up there they would take 1 hour to get tonthe shops. I felt that.
Turns out that sparring was the most valuable thing George ever could have experienced. I need to find me a legend like that to spar with, it's worth a lot clearly.
