Not sure if he'll be gunning for it early or not but I believe he's gonna try to land that laser left straight of his hard and often. It is a destructive weapon once he gets his timing and range down, which is often quickly enough. I also don't know what sort of chin he has, but yes he could fall into something big if he's not careful early.
Unless you want him to put a gun to his head, Andrade is indeed chasing Charlo. Hearn even applied to WBC to get him ranked to force a unification. Janibek is a damn good opponent. But if you don’t like him being mandatory, then blame Jaime Munguia who was the WBO #1 but wanted absolutely no part of Andrade.
He definitely won't fight as dumb a fight as Williams fought that's for sure. He'll be more measured and thoughtful in his approach and as good and awkward as Boo Boo is he'll be very dangerous with that backhand of his.
WBO mandates that their champions must face a mandatory every nine months (barring special exemption like unifications). It's been about 7 months since the Liam Williams fight, so to give time for promotion/training camps and keep within their nine-month schedule this is perfectly reasonable by WBO. Especially when Andrade just made a voluntary title defense against...Jason Quigley. It's not like he's DOING anything with his freebies.
Agreed. Janibek is the very definition of high risk low reward at this stage. And while I’d rather if he fought somone like Rosado or Willie Monroe before stepping up against Boo Boo, he deserves a title shot as much as anyone at 160.
Problem is Boo Boo is so skillful, slippery and awkward is practically impossible to get a gauge on how someone is going to be able deal with him and his awkwardness. He can make very good fighters look terrible but I think Janibek' possesses the skill, accuracy, and power to cause him some real problems here. Even if he's not winning any rounds he'll still be dangerous as long as he's still standing.
It's a competitive fight but it's hardly a mouth watering clash of styles nor is it one of the obvious fights to make that have gone 5+ years unmade.
The bad thing about this is contrary to what people claim, Andrade doesn't have much control over his career, he can't force unification fights whereas someone like Golovkin or Canelo could or hold a belt hostage with starpower. And if he loses that belt, he drops off the radar (because who on Earth would wanna risk a near sure shutout loss if they didn't have to).
And unlike Williams, Janibek upped his game in his biggest fight to date against Brant. I missed his fight on the weekend but I think his style could be effective against a guy like Andrade, Janibek is well rounded and throws good straight shots.
Yeah. He'll have to be careful of getting caught with uppercuts though This content is protected But he's two former world champions who moved and used the ring a lot in his last two fights and stopped both which is a positive sign albeit they were both orthodox though This content is protected
With GGG/Murata fighting each other and Charlo/Munguia pretending like Andrade doesn’t exist, It is one of obvious fights to make.
