Explain the animosity between Khan and Brook.

    Brook was a bit jealous of Khan early on and that's about it. No other animosity of note.

    And that basically ended after Kell became world champion. There were a few years afterwards where Kell wanted to fight Khan, but there was never much needle. Fast forward to now and it's just pure theatre, on par with Haye vs Bellew.

    To be fair Floyd did a poll on who people wanted him to fight next, Khan came out on top then he went and rematched Maidana :lol:

    Stems from Brook being abit envious of Khan's success - the media/tv work and that, I think. Also, Khan going to the Olympics and not him.

    Brook was world champion when he was calling out Khan. In a division Khan failed in. Khan was nothing. He hasn't won a world title fight since 2011!

    It's hardly like Khan was Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, Lennox Lewis level or something :lol:

    I think it was solely started with being a big money fight for brook when he couldnt nail down many big financial fights. He was pretty high risk low reward....was quite a tricky guy to fight...for a long time he couldnt break into the big time before beating porter a fight he had to take away from home. Even then he struggled having to go up to fight golovkin. Khan was his most lucrative fight....one which should have been easy to make. Khan kept avoiding or moving the goal posts etc and from there it turned into genuine beef. Been a frustrating career for brook.

    I agree: it reached a point whereby Brook was more or less banking on the Khan fight getting made, to the detriment of everything else.

    It went way beyond that though. If you think that long after calling out Khan he went onto some decent fights and must have had good pay days against GGG and Spence while Khan was picking up big cheques against Canelo and others. It’s clearly a chip on his shoulder that Khan never saw the need to bother with him. Probably rattles him even more now that it’s purely a pension top-up.

    to be fair khan won one by telling his twatter followers to gone vote on floyds poll
    boxing fans voted on the other two which maidana after beating broner won
