I'd expect a trilogy between two ATG's to most of the time result in one of them winning one. Too many variables, including dumb luck. Would be surprised at a shutout.

Nah, everyone on the internet is at least 6 feet.

Just saw that you voted as somebody who's competed before. Didn't know that. Cheers.

Why do you see Holmes winning this one?

I also think Norton's style *did* owe something to his size. Not sure Rocky could jab with Holmes and Ali.

Not to mention everyone lost their virginity at 8, beat up a bunch of guys in high school, and is an expert on whatever they're talking about.

In all seriousness I did notice a correlation between age, height, ethnic origins and how some people rate Rocky. But I'll just leave it at that before someone attempts to call the Cancel-Police.

I would bet my entire savings and my left testicle that Rocky couldn't jab with them in 100 attempts.

Boxing tends to polarize people toward boxers most like themselves (and against people unlike themselves.) It's not a unique phenomenon to Rocky, IMO. For example, I rate Sullivan quite high because I, like him, was born in 1858 (and lost my virginity in 1866).

Anyway, the fact that everybody who picked Rocky boxed is interesting because it suggests that either of the following might be true: (1) that the non-boxing Rocky supporters are too embarrassed to admit they don't box, or (2) that there's something about Rocky's style that appeals to some people who've boxed. It has little or nothing to do with whether Rocky wins, but it's a more interesting nuance than trying to find out which voters are short, elderly Italian men. (Or tall, African American Gen-Xers from Easton, for that matter.)

That cannot really be true, except for a small subset. There are a whole lot of non-black fans of black boxers, and black athletes in general.

Just a guess -- Holyfield would do well among the same voting group. It's the whole warrior thing. Rocky definitely was one.

Marciano jabbed better than Ken Norton? You might want to re think that one ,Norton had a very good jab, at least twice as effective as Rocky's to say the least.

At the very least an easy decision, more than likely the ring doctor stops the fight after 11or 12 rounds with Marciano's face cut up like he'd been in a fight with Freddy Kreuger .

At the time Holmes was defending his title, Rocky fought 8-8-1s (thats

Some posters simply exterting such "tilts of realty", it never gets tired.

anyone prone to cuts against Holmes is going to run the risk of a stoppage. that's like having a glass jaw and agreeing to fight Shavers or Foreman. has real potential to go badly.

They'll just cop out and say Rocky never got stopped ignoring the fact at least two of his matches were gruesome and would be stopped by any other sensible ref.

By using his jab to keep Marciano at bay and score points. And his right to keep Marciano honest. If Marciano gets close, Holmes smothers him and clinches to take away his inside game and body shots.
IMO Holmes won't take risks unless he has too. He most likely wins on points.

So, what you're saying is that Holmes would fight like Holmes?
