...who would it be? Who would be that high-quality guy whose style would mesh well with the current top ten?

I don't even have anyone in mind specifically, but we all know the names: Lyle, Shavers, Quarry, Cooney, Cleveland Williams, Ruddock...

The only qualification here is that they cannot have held ANY version of the title

Quarry would certainly teach top sluggers like Wilder and Whyte a lesson, but I'd much rather see him thrive at cruiser.

I’d bring back Billy Conn. So we’d know exactly where guys in Joe Louis’ era rank.

Good idea. Even Buddy Baer or Lous Nova would do similar.

    I'll name a few
Harry Wills....maybe he finally gets a title shot
Ibeabuchi....granted he keeps his head straight
    Jimmy Bivins....similar reasoning to Wills
Harry Greb.....so we can finally get some footage of him
    ...

Similar to the Mac Foster fight, maybe. Or Lyle, Shavers...

    Forgot about Ibeabuchi.

    Bivins is a nice shout.

David Tua would've been interesting in this era

Another great call. Beat four titleists but never quite picked one up.

Fres Oquendo. Beat all his opponents before he went into the David Tua era.

Does Ken Norton count? He held some NABF title or something for a while I think but otherwise he might be ranked as the GOAT non-titlist HW.

Edit: I should say after the liberation from the colour line, probably.

Amazing bouts. Quarry just couldn't stop himself from pulling off an upset when he was expected to lose.

David Tua might struggle with the giants

But it could be good entertainment....

Fury, yes. But "giants" like Joshua are susceptible to upsets since Tua was durable and could hurt anyone.
