Seriously? Maidana gave him hell in the first fight, what would people have said if he fought Khan instead of rematching Maidana? How many fights had Khan lost up to that point without avenging?
I never really got it personally. Amir Khan in the amateurs fought at a lower weight and Kell fought at the higher weight. Some thought Kell would go on to be better than Khan when Khan was being hyped as the next big thing and a future champion. Kell and Khan had a sparring session i believe and there's different opinions from both on who ''won'' and who got schooled even though it's just sparring which shouldn't matter. Kell might hold a bit of jealousy in the sense Khan made quite a few quid through his career and i think Khan looked at boxing carefully from a business side always trying to get himself the best deal which is smart. I think even though he might spend money stupidly he has made a few investments and he has had a better career than Kell from financial aspect and doing very well at 140lbs. I do think Khan ducked Brook and has carefully avoided the match and now it's too late he's put in a rehydration clause to get an extra advantage right when both fighters have really declined. I doesn't matter who wins this fight like Ben Shalom said. Ben Shalom stated this is what people will remember in the history books when this fight doesn't matter at all at this point. Who cares who wins in 2022 when this fight should have happened in their prime or near primes. I think Khan might win this if the Brook with little punch resistance shows like he did against Crawford. I favor Khan stopping a zombie Brook in the mid to late rounds by an accumulation of punches.
at least they will satisfy the Boxing Public, as many, many a should have happened meet, NEVER Did! so 'IF' they meet the Boxing Fan gets something out of it... I think Khan will still somehow see too it that the fight never happens.
This is why I'm still extremely skeptical about the whole affair. Just because the fight has been announced, it doesn't necessarily mean it will happen. In the early part of January, Khan might just decide that he doesn't fancy giving Brook a huge payday, so he'll pull out with an "injury", like Dillian Whyte trying to get out of fighting Wallin.
remember khan holding his own with ward in sparring remember khan beating murray up in sparring remember khan beating kell up in sparring it never happened what did happen was at 17yrs of age mark heffron smacked khan from pillar to post fact checked
Not saying rematching Maidana was the wrong decision but that's what did happen. Floyd v Maidana 1 was a great fight.
Mayweather did the poll before the first fight with Maidana, not the rematch. He disregarded the results and chose to fight Maidana instead.
Who do you guys think actually has a better record? They've both lost to elite fighters and have won World titles. I'd say Brook, simply because of the Porter win.
Khan overall. The Maidana win has aged very well and he went on a good run around that time. Porter was basically the start and end of Brook's career.
It’s well worth watching the press conference. It’s 1-0 Khan already, he was the dominant one in that presser. When he called Brook a BLOB in response to Brook saying he had been training since July it was hilarious. He also said in response to him having no chin, that at least he wasn’t knocked out by a jab. You can see Khan is confident and you can see Brook has a long road ahead of him to make 147 as he looks huge and the fight is only 3 months away.
