It's because he is a fake poster and doesn't even try to cover it up. Most of his arguments about Foreman are so thickly filled with sarcasm that it's not difficult to see he's just having a laugh.

Im glad you mentioned the Bruno fight. I remember watching it and thought Lewis was on the verge of going down after a few decent shots from Frank. Far more troubled than Tyson looked when he got "rocked" by Bruno. As a fan this always worried me about Lewis afterwards.

Does anyone remember what round it was?

  9. bruno did hurt tyson but he did hurt lewis much worse, bruno could not fight, he was a bad finisher, he was a very hard puncher, strong and a big guy but it is all, he had no chin , and he could not fight.

    and welcome to the forum

I find Chuvalo's chin quite overrated really.. like just hear me out. You see, getting knocked down is a inaccurate way to tell how good the person's chin. A good chin means it's hard knock you out, not knock you down. Not getting knocked down is a mix of balance, defense, physical strength, etc. You can have guys like Monzon who was usually knocked down but most of it are flash knockdowns. He got up from it easily like it was nothing and was far away from getting knocked out.

So about Chuvalo's chin... I don't find any respectable puncher that Chuvalo faced. Floyd Patterson? yeah decent. Bob Baker? meh. Joe Frazier is probably the only respectable puncher that he faced, Mike DeJohn was shot and was he easily stopped by Foreman (don't know about Mel Turnbow). I know he was past his best against Foreman, but Ali at the time withstood a pounding from Shavers. I personally put guys like Larry Holmes above him.

Another overrated chin I would say is Marion Wilson. Yeah a lot of names... but none of them are respectable punchers. Mercer is just a could punch type fighter imo, Ibeabuchi actually didn't do much, Derrick Jefferson was good but meh, David Izon could punch but also meh so does Rahman. The only respectable puncher he faced imo is Shannon Briggs and Samuel Peter but just two is not enough.

Another huge overrated chin I would say is Tex Cobb. His chin ATG? No. Just.... No

Edit: Forgot to mention Vitali and Bonavena

Monzon was only knocked down twice in his entire career wasn't he?

Well you get scored better for KD than a wobble or a stagger. However, it is true that some guys who remain on their feet are hurt more than those who hit the deck for a few seconds. Monzon might be the perfect choice for both examples. He was badly hurt by Briscoe without going down but apparently not so much (amazingly) when he touched down briefly against Valdez. Sometimes better for your body to put you down temporarily than stay on your feet, half dead, half alive, as an easy, blowing in the wind target for the coupe de grace.

But how on earth did old George somehow survive 12 rds against Tommy “The Era Slayer” Morrison without even kissing the canvas.?

Foreman had a great beard. Ali was hitting George pretty good and often and in the African heat. George also fought in tremendous heat against Young, falling (but also getting up) from exhaustion as much as anything else.

Never mind that he also arose from the bombs of power puncher Ronnie Lyle among a number of other examples of his ability to take a punch in both his first and second incarnations.

    Just keeping it real.

That's why I say getting knocked down is a very very very inaccurate way to judge a person's chin. Not getting knocked down is a fusion of someone's balance, stamina, defense and overall skillsets. It's the same way why you can't say having high knockout ratio means you're a devastating puncher.
